real improvement? Like watching guys shoot uncontested 3s is improvement? (bleep) that...the Lakers got hit with the same play over and over and over again...3's coming from one position, the small forward position...mostly from the left side. That was pretty ridiculous.
It's not like driving and dishing is something brand new...(bleep), that's been discovered since like decades ago. And to not make any defensive adjustments at all should be considered a crime. That's (bleep) unacceptable.
One more thing, it's not illegal to call timeouts and make adjustments. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. that was a good loss. Spurs were HOT otherwise we would have won today.
Had Phil started Kwame and not Cook and had they not double teamed Duncrap we would have won. |

That's loser talk. If they're hot, you find a way to cool them off. |

the lakers don't belong in the same building as the spurs. against detroit, we saw what would happen if lamar stepped up, kwame played big, and kobe did his thing. of course, you're an idiot to ever expect that to happen more then once in a blue moon. |

easier said than done. losing by 7 points against the current champion is for us an acceptable loss. Our offense worked well for most parts and they never gave up. Cool them off? you need the personell. Sasha, Luke, Lamar, Christina, Cook, Smush, Cook are all atrocious defenders. You can´t expect Kobe´s merry band of scrubs to defend anyone. Even George got BURNED at least 5 times on the 3 point line. He has the hoop IQ of a grain of salt. |

As a Spur's fan....
The Spur's don't normally shoot 3s that well. Manu hasn't been able to hit the side of a barn and Finley has just recently regained his touch.
If the Spur's were playing like they were a couple of weeks ago, the Laker's would have won. The Spur's are starting to round into playoff form and it was bad timing for the Lakers.
It is easy to say that you cool them off, but if you sit on the three point shooters then Parker can cruise over, pick up Eva, and start working on a routine for "Dancing with the Stars" as he waltzes into the lane for another layup. This year's Parker is a LOT better than previous years. He has learbed to drive, seek contact, and flip the ball off of the glass. He has been the best, most consistent player this year as Duncan and Manu have been hurt and off their game.
Duncan still can't shoot, so the Lakers would be better off with not doubling TD, hoping that Kwame can slow him down, and trying to keep Parker out and rotating quickly to the guards.
Will be interesting to see what adjustments are made for Friday.
BTW, it was interesting for me to see hhow much better Kobe is offensively this year. Bowen didn't really even slow him down. If you have been watching Bowen this year, he has been shutting down people, from the scoring guards to Dirk. |

That's overstating what happened in last night's game. The Lakers did have some mental lapses in the 3rd (again!), but it only lasted a few minutes. Problem was, those lapses created tons of confidence in SAs shooters. That's all. Most of those 3s late were contested, but once Manu got hot, then Finley, and then Bowen chipped in, the basket just seemed to get big for those guys. The Lakers just have to play a perfect game against the Spurs and I would say they did that for about 38-40 minutes. They weren't even that bad in those 8-10 minutes, they were just getting caught up in rotations on D, and made a couple of mistakes on O. But if this team wants to play with the best, they can't let that happen. Honestly, the Spurs are a very impressive team, they capitalized on seemingly every single mistake the Lakers made. But that's why they're the champs. |

What can you say, the Lakers just bring out the best in the Spurs these days. Expect the same result friday. |

we have to win games when Kobe goes off like that. Yet he has NO HELP. I think its clear when it gets hot kobe will will his game. Others need to focus on shut down D and get him the ball. Instead they play no D and get him the ball by way of out of bounds _________________ Lakers Tickets |

It's easy to get hot when you are standing, catching and shooting...like it was shooting practice. Bad rotations, no adjustments. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Well the fact that the Spurs can bring Finley, Horry, Barry and NVE off the bench kinda makes it a little hard to cool them off.
But of course I'm sure you'll think that's loser talk as well. |

In truth, this team is out of our league - both in talent and smarts. Kind of like the old Utah teams - we may be close in a few games, but don't really have a shot when it comes to crunch time.
Also, this game really wasn't that close. Don't let the 7 point differential deceive you - it was more like a 13 pt loss (at home nonetheless, after having a 2 pt lead at the half). Nothing to crow about. |

It is loser talk. It'd be foolish to expect the likes of Odom to swat every three-point shot into the fifth row, but is it really too much to ask for him to just stand in front of his man and get a hand up? That's all I'm asking. But even that amount of minimal effort would have made a difference. |
