The fourth-quarter meltdown didn't go unnoticed by Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller, who walked across the floor with 26 seconds to glare at the players and then had some pointed comments for the team in the locker room after the game.

"They are a bunch of pampered babies," Miller told the media. "We need some guys with some guts and some fire down the stretch. It wouldn't hurt me to turn over all 15 guys, but the trading deadline has passed and there's nothing we can do."

Is this an effective method to motivate your team? Seems like the Jazz have trouble luring free agents anyways; if the owner is willing to blast his own team in the middle of a stretch run to try and make playoffs, how does that change perception of playing for Utah?

maybe the Jazz regroup, and win in spite of the owner; kind of like what the Sonics had last year: a bunch of guys playing for new contracts; only this time, a bunch of guys playing to appeal to, and get traded to, new teams?

and of course, the completely unfounded rumor of: Does this make AK47 available? He can't be too happy being grouped with his teammates of being "babies" and having the owner say he would trade 'em all; but can't since the deadline's over...

probably not good to say to the media....but it must be frustrating as hell to watch boozer not play for a year and then come back and play like a candy ass. especially when you have to write him huge paychecks.

Boozer should have been traded.

Typical Miller not knowing what to do and always talking too much. He has done it when they had Karl and John too.

Didn't he used to rip on Malone so bad that at the end of every season Malone would tell the media he wasn't coming back next year?

Utah has enough trouble getting players to want to come play there - there's no need to make it even more undesirable. Larry needs to realize he's competing against guys like Mark Cuban who do everything in their power to make their franchises a great place to play, which means no publicly calling your players wusses to the press - leave that to your coaching staff. I'm sure things go on behind closed doors in every franchise, which is the way it should be.
