Do you think Snaq will comeback as purple and gold so Laker can retire his jersey? Will management acquire him for a minimum vet to do a Divac/Mckie thing?

With the hostility surrounding his departure, I don't see this happening. No love between him and Buss.

Shaq's ego is way too big to ever agree to a vets minimum.

the next time you see shaq's purple and gold laker jersey will be when it's hanging in the rafters of staples center.

Yeah, and I'll be the one in the stands, puking into a hefty bag.

Hanging that bastage's shirt next to the others up there will be a desecration of that wall.

If there were a player I despised in the NBA, for whatever reason, and he came to the Lakers and won us one or more championships -- I'd hang his jersey in the rafters too.

On the other hand, someone could be a really good guy -- bleed purple and gold, and I still wouldn't wwant his jersey hung in the rafters. I would like the organization to honor players like that though. (e.g. Michael Cooper and Byron Scott)

I don't have the Shaq hatred. I won't forget things he's said and done, but I don't dwell on them. I'm looking forward to the Lakers building the next championship team.

But when I look back on past glory, I want to see the banners up-- and I want to see the jerseys of the Hall fo famers who helped put them there.

It would be interesting though -- hypothetical because it won't happen -- if Shaq did come back and help win another championship. Other than championship itself, the most interesting part would be the back-pedalling of some who would create some way of explaining how their attitude would shift.

Some never would change their minds about him. Thats okay, i understand. But I don't see how any laker fan could oppose having Shaq's jersey retired for his unarguable accomplishments for the franchise on the court.

The again, I'm one of those who would like to see Pete Rose in the baseball hall of fame. If a guy's a god character guy -- then there's a citizenship award out there you can give him. But hall of fames and jersey retirements should be for what someone does on the court. On your court (don't agree with Miami hanging jerseys for players on other teams and in other sports)

Not having Shaq's jersey hanging in Staples after he retires would be as wrong as not having finally put up a banner honoring the great Minneapolis Laker players -- more so because he was our franchise player for 8 years.

Now that role belongs to Kobe. Kobe was growing into that role while Shaq was here. I wish they could have worked out the transition like Magic and Kareem, but they didn't. But #8 and #34 will be hanging in the rafters some day.

im not sure what that sentence meant. is that supposed to be two sentences?

anyway my point is you can choose to be angry over the past or you can choose to accept it and move on. it's up to you.

Who says anyone is angry? you told everyone to forgive Shaq because the past always matter but you know what thats you're opinion.

Shaq has already done enough damage to us fans and this organization.

Would you forgive you're girl if she had sex with other guys every night? it's easy for you but to other people it's not.

He is the only player I have come very very very close to wishing he become the recipient of a career ending injury

A "Professional" shaq would have brought us 5 in a row...
