If the couple of posters are right about there being a tape-delay, you
might wanna include something like "(live-game thread)" or something
so tape-delayers don't pop in accidentally and spoil it for themselves. |

CBS sportsline has the Hornets as the favorites to win 65% to 35%. How sad is that! _________________ "To me he is the best player in the world right now. That guy doesn't know fear at all. He doesn't care. He would have won it for the Americans single-handedly." Dirk Nowitzki |

Radio is saying he will most likely play since George is not. |

1) They have a better record than us
2) It is a road game
3) They have a better overall team (this year) |

David West or Boris Diaw are the main candidates for MIP. |

It's their return to NO, that's a big part of it I'm sure.
They'll be emotionally charged.
That's generally a good thing, but it could also either wear them out
towards the end of the game on heavy legs or simply give them spurratic
shooting over the night from the extra emotion and push.
We'll see. I obviously feel for NO and everything they've been though,
but as a Laker fan I won't hesitate to drop an 'L' on 'em
Should be interesting to watch the officiating tonight too.
As much as the Lakers are one of the most marketable teams in the
league, I wonder - if any officating jazz goes on with Stern - if he wouldn't
want this one to look triumphant for New Orleans. |

I pick David West. He is a legit 15+/8 big
Diaw is improved but he is a product of the Suns system. |

West scores on a hook, Bryant misses a shot, PJ Brown illegal screen. Kobe owns Paul in the post, West misses, Kobe scores on a turnaround jumper.

It also means a lot to Kobe to be playing in New Orleans, I read a quote about this game a few months back, so hes had this game on the mind for a while, so that coupled with the fact that this is the team we need to pass up in the standings.... makes for a very nic scenario for Kobe to go NUTS!!!!!! CBS Sportsline should know better!!!! _________________ "To me he is the best player in the world right now. That guy doesn't know fear at all. He doesn't care. No offense to West, cuz he's certainly improved... but you gotta give that
to Diaw.
He's playing out of position, at center with no bulk and way too short, yet
he's got two triple-doubles on the season and is a threat to do the same
on virtually every night. He's the second-leading assist man on the Suns
too playing all at center and power-forward.
Combine that with the fact that he was BURIED on the HAWKS bench last
year, and I don't see how you can nix the guy for MIP. |

Know that the refs are human and would love to see the hometown team win under these circumstances. Lakers must play smart. _________________ Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst. |

^^^ Good point, but who even knew of West last year. Atleast Diaw performed well in Europe over the summer. |

It's not about who you "knew of." It's about who improved their game
more.
Again, no disrespect to West, but Diaw's game is outta left field this
season and it's insane.
He just dropped a 24/10/10 game a night or two ago, and he's had tons
of double-doubles and near trip-dubs.
If you wanna say a couple of his ppg are from being a "product of the
Suns system" I'd probably agree with ya, but that's not where his
rebounds or sick passing is coming from.
I'mma go back to watching the game, and not trying to call ya out or
anything - I just think Diaw is the clear #1 to me. |

Good ball movement. 4 Assists, 5 field goals. 10-8 Lakers.

I like Mihm, I wouldn't mind him staying as a backup even if Bynum develops nicely |
