Problem is, next game he'll probably put up 9 pts.
Listen, Lamar needs to compliment Kobe in carrying this offense. You cant be on one night off the next 3. His inconsistency is killin us. Without Lamar scoring, Kobe is all we got. And with Kobe being all we got for most of the season, we're .500 at best. If Lamar avg'd 19-20pts like he's capable, we'd easily be in the 5th spot as of now. There's absolutely no excuse as to why Odom doesnt avg 18-20ppg..........he's got a mismatch advantage just about nightly and does nothing with it. Hell, even if Lamar made 60 percent of his layup attempts we'd be in much better position.
I can count on one hand the number of 20+ point games Lamar has left in him this season. Thats a shame. And he's all we have to show for the O'Neal trade. |

Haha, agreed.
As kind of a Lamar "middle-grounder" I'd much rather there's one
consolidated LO-hater thread, and one consolidated LO-jocker thread.
Do it Mitch!

So I guess after every game a thread is going to pop up like this.
Please refrain from this. Lamar has been inconsistant and when he does play well we usually win. He played well tonight now lets hold our breath that he plays well again but moreso for the rest of the year. |

It's pretty much after every loss that Lamar is blamed.
If you are going to blame a guy after each loss, give him credit for each win.
In reality it's neither always his fault nor the opposite. But the fact is when a commentator asks Kobe Bryant about it - you know there's too much hate going around. |

After a game like tonight, even if they lost I wouldn't blame him one bit.
Everyone knows that Lamar has the potential to be one of the best which he shows like tonight. If Lamar faulters, he's going to get blamed. This is the way things go, even Kobe had his share earlier this year with the shots he was taking. |

I'll admit this much:
I tend to rag on these threads.
BOTH types.
The hater-threads when LO's numbers are slightly low.
The jocker-threads when LO's numbers are slightly high.
Cuz yes, they come after virtually EVERY freakin' game.
But tonight LO's game was flat-out beast
I'm sticking by my own party-line that the guy isn't gonna get drastically
better, and that you're gonna have nights like this and nights where he
disappears - AND that he's a great 3rd option.
But tonight he was sick.
I don't mind the thread so much. |

Wow. This is shocking. I have never seen one of these threads after an Odom double double game.
Not hating on the guy, but this has been a recurring theme. |

ive seen most of the games this year, and rarely if ever do i see lamar calling for the ball--almost demanding it. hopefully it continues. _________________ Dominating every day. |

Agreed on a "double-double" game in general.
The guy was 18/17/6.
That's a damned good double-double.
LO ain't gonna be the "2nd option" every night on offense, but he saved
Kobe's tough-night those first 3-quarters partly with scoring, but MUCH
more with those insane boards.
Kobe saved him right back, which is just how he rolls
Still, a guy goes 18/17/6 at PF and he deserves some praise. |

i agree it's premature to get excited, but as inconsistent as Lamar is, he has been getting less inconsistent. Surely there's something to be said for that. Right? |
