In the post=game interview, John Ireland said there'd been a lot of external criticism of Lamar and what did the Lakers think of it. Kobe rolled his eyes and said Lamar could be one of the best ever with his potential--it was just a matter of him figuring out how to function in this system, but he said he would figure it out.
Well, WTF does Kobe know anyway.
Lamar stepped up big time tonight. 18 points, 17 rebounds.
No matter what number 2 scorer the Lakers could get for Lamar, who's going to equal his rebound totals night in and night out. |

As far as I am concerened Kobe sucks and should keep his mouth shut.
40 points again tonight, leading the Lakers to the win. For shame and now defending Lamar? Trade him, trade his ass! _________________ Where's Cokie the Clown when you need him? |

in order for LO to find his niche in the system he has to get some good entry passes while he's matched up against someone undersized...unlike the spurs games there were several times today where i could see the lakers trying to exploit the weakness on whoever was sticking LO...they should do that next game whenever they see ginobli or barry guarding him...he did a good job today on the boards and scoring when we needed him to...great game for LO! |

Kobe and me think a like...hehehe...Odom can be one of the best ever, with all his skills and talent...I hope he decides to do something about his "potential".
Great game by Odom tonight, monster off the boards. He's also having a more better mentality, he's starting to be more assertive, asking for the ball. A very welcome improvement. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Big reason I'd like to keep him to be the eventual 3rd option.
When your 3rd option can be a "garbage man" like Shawn Marion, getting
his points without plays run for him often, off of broken plays, and still
fill up the stat-sheet on boards and assists - that's about the best kind of
"3rd-option" you can get.
That said, if a great 2nd-option is available, KG, Bosh, etc... you HAVE to
make that move. |

I like lamar too and I hope he stays a laker forever..... however, The Lakers need Consistency out of 3 positions and thats what Lamar cannot provide on a nightly basis. We need consistency on PF SF and PG. I say we keep Lamar get good players due to the 07 plan and keep Lamar as a valuable 6th man |

Lamar is far from reaching his potential. He's still young and once he works harder on his game, he'll eventually get to a level where he could be known as a superstar. _________________ To win the title, Lakers will have to overcome the world. |

Kobe speaks the truth!!
I love Lamar!! I was just saying this in another thread yesterday. I'm very happy he's a Laker!!
And it's only going to get better.
As soon as he "gets it" (the triangle)... look the F out!
Just ask Ron Harper. His first year with Phil and the triangle was a disaster. But once he got it, well, we all know how that turned out.
I'm tellin' y'all, it's going to be SICK once Lamar "gets it!"

He averaged 14.7 after all star break. He is in the top 20 in all rebound categories, top 20 in double-doubles, top 10 in minutes, turnovers, and top 25 in assists. Scored 7 13+ points since allstar game

I hope LA makes a strong push for Jason Terry in the offseason. 5 year MLE deal and see what Dallas does. Test them and see if they really feel Devin Harris is their future pg. Chances are they resign him but it's worth at least trying. |

Dude, as a 3rd option you can deal with some inconsistancy when the
guys averages are what Lamar's are.
It know they don't LOOK that great, but how many guys give you 14/9/5
in this game?
I'll reiterate it, he's NOT the answer as a #2.
But guys like LO who do all the other things are PERFECT 3rd options,
where they can score their 15 or so points without further expectation
and focus on crashing the boards, dishing, defense, etc.
Who in the WORLD do you think we're getting with the "2007 plan" that
is gonna fill our PG and PF spots, and THEN give us a SF to start OVER
Lamar Odom?
You're gonna add 3 STAR PLAYERS to the squad?
How many teams in the league have a player of LO's talent-level (and
salary!) as their 6th-man.
C'mon bro, you know that's just silly to even say |

Although Kobe hit the clutch shots, he wouldn't have been able to win without Odom tonight. I want to be able to say that time and time again! Amazing game by Lamar! |

well you gotta a point to Keep Lamar as a 3rd option as a small forward...
lamar is a 14/9/5 average which is descent then by this argument as Lamar a third option we need a PG and a consistent Power Forward, and 6th man!!! I dont deavon cutting it even for a sixth man |
