Guys, face it, JJ isnt gonna be a bigtime contributor. Maybe a B-Shaq style with clutch shots but its not like hes gonna be a scorer. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Can he even play 30 minutes a game?
And if he is going to take over where Caron left over, can he be as effective at the offensive charge? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

JJ will be 8ppg at most with our rotation. We have Kobe 40+ MPG and George when he comes back soon who Phil likes of course. |

That's hilarious.
But, in reality, I don't think JJ's role for the Lakers is anything more than providing a veteran presence off the bench. Since it often seems as if the Lakers are lost out there when the backups are in, he can come in and stabilize the bunch. That's probably the hope.
This is similar to what Profit (though not a veteran) was doing early on in the season. He would come in with the backups, but the Lakers wouldn't look like they're playing with a lot of panic. After he went down, sometimes the backups would struggle or start to rush things. Jackson will hopefully somewhat stabilize them. |

JJ could take over for Devean while he is out. That's about my expectation of him right now. I'm not bashing JJ, he's just walking onto a new team with a complex system and he's closing in on being 100 years old. He'd be doing great if he could help fill in for Devean while he's out. |

He's not afraid to shoot, that's for sure.
Quite aggressive. I mean he was cutting and spotting up right away.
If he can give us what he gave Sacto 2 years ago, I will be really happy. |

If JJ can average 8-9 ppg, and play well in 4th quarters he was a great pickup. Anything more than that is gravy. |

He is what he is. A experienced backup player who can play a few minutes off the bench and hopefully will not commit too many bonehead mistakes. And provide some leadership, which is lacking in too many games. |

I'd be happy with 10 and 6, 20 - 25 minutes. Thing is how will get that many minutes? Start handling the ball?
I think his presence will be felt more so on the defensive end.

If he's not going to score then he's not much use. Scoring is what Jim Jackson does.
If he gets hot, he can shoot the lights out. |

Tim Thomas scored 20pts his first game with phx. That type of offense along with Nash sets you up to score a lot of points. |
