Lamar Odom was a "set play" guy before this season.

This is the first time he is working off the ball and reacting off reads. You know how hard that is? And Lamar's not exactly a genious.

But if you watch the Spurs game (I have three times) you will notice that he is now moving off the ball more and more. He is looking at the spacing and where to cut much better.

The passing will always be there. That height and length is undefendable by anyone minus KG. But what he has to do is constantly draw doubles in the post or make defenses pay for playing him 1 on 1.

IMO Odom won't really become a consistent scorer for us until next season and once Phil makes it a point to the team to set him up in the post. They have to set him up in the post to start off games, like they used to with Shaq. That's the best way to maxamize his scoring ability.

Even if it's for 1 qtr - just start off the games that way. Then you can expect him to create for himself and others as the game wears on.

Phil had it right at the Spurs game. Going to Lamar and Smush in the post early was excellent strategy.

Lamar will be an all-star soon but just look at him now! When we need Kobe's rest, he gives us points. When KB is open, he makes a wonderful pass, when the ball is too high to get for Kobe, Lamar is there.

WOW

That is the most DRASTIC reach to try and plug a player's stats I've EVER
EVER EVER seen

You're trying to make it look like the guy is top-20 in like 15 different
categories, but all you're really doing is picking apart different ways of
saying that he's good at rebounds and avoiding turnovers.

Don't get me wrong, that says alot - but its TWO categories.

Minutes played? Rebounds? THEN quoting defensive, offensive, and total
rebounds?

Sheeeeeeeeesh.

Props to his play lately, don't get me wrong, but I'm not convinced this
is some permanent change until he keeps this up for at least the bulk of
our remaining games.

yea, it's really sad how obvious it was.

Lay off him, guys. All he did was copy and paste Lamar's stats from his profile on NBA.com.

Lamar is one of the better players in the NBA. It just takes some time to take on a new role within a new system.

He's a solid player, no dubt due to his all around game, but he's not one of the better players
