Yeah he's been tearing it up this year. He averages more points as a starter than LO does.

JJ is a very good rhythm shooter.

He is a FA this season. I think the Lakers might look into signing him if Devean's not interested in taking a short cheap K.

As I said before, I'm all in favor of letting DG3 walk and resigning Jumaine.

And not to mention - how many games is that in term of starts?

Even Kareem Rush has good averages on the Bobcats. Doesn't mean he's really a 10-15 ppg scorer in this league.

Jumaine is a very good rebounder too. I agree with the poster above who said we should let DG walk if he doesn't stay for cheap, and re-sign JJ. We also have to worry about Profit, tho, so we really need to watch our roster spots.

I like Luke now over Jumaine. Luke can pass and rebound. We don't need another guy to jack up random shots.

Jumaine is a half way decent defender. Luke is a matador.

luke has one good game and now he's good again?

id put jumaine in the game any day of the year before walton
he hustles and can hit the open shot, he was also our most consistent player last year

Gawd, Luke had 2 or 3 good games and a gazillion horrible ones this season and we are ready to say we won't trade him? He has the Devean George syndrome, where he fools you into thinking he is on the upswing, but he is just providing enough of a spurt for a bigger contract.

It's funny. So many people viewed JJ as a bust when he was first traded to the Lakers. Overall, he was a rental, who resulted in a Bobcat's second round pick in 2007 plus a small trade exception. The main object of the trade was Chris Mihm. Atkins was a PG rental. JJ was valuable filling in for DG last season, so he made a wise rental. His contract is about up, so someone will have to pay him. Overall, I would rather have a healthy DG. JJ is a pretty good player, but he wouldn't get much PT with Lamar Odom and DG. We don't know how it will come out, but the Lakers wanted to move a couple of SFs to add some size to the team. Ironically, a high second round pick in 2007 may be worth more than a late first round pick in this draft.

Jumaine...

Averaged 16.1/7.2 in February.
Averaging 17.2/5.6 in Match.

Already has 12/9 tonight against the the Pistons in the third quarter.

And we got a second round pick.

JJ was a good backup. He's getting minutes, because they are the Bobcats. He did produce with the Lakers, but the Lakers weren't playing winning basketball with JJ starting. I liked him as a player, but thought he was worth a first round draft pick. People laughed at the suggestion, but JJ is a good sixth man. A second round pick and a small trade exception isn't much for JJ. Time will tell if the trade was worthwhile. JJ was a victim of the numbers crunch. The Lakers planned to move two SFs, Butler and JJ. DG was kept for defensive purposes and triangle knowledge.
