Yeah he's playing (bleep) but come on 22 FGAs and only 1 free throw attempt? You'd never see that with Iverson, LeBron, Wade, Pierce, etc. (bleep) refs are terrible.

On the other hand King James had 28 free throws today. Kobe just can't buy a call. It seems like the officials are making a point to Kobe.

Agreed. refs suck and for some reason do not give Kobe the opportunities that other elite players get. It's pitiful and they should be ashamed.
But today I think was a combo of Kobe NOT feeling it offensively, his teammates being asleep defensively and not responding, and finally the refs swallowing their whistles. Add those together and you're in one bad mother of a mood fast.

They are. Kobe's been getting in-to this nasty habit of contesting EVERY call. You're bound to get on someone's bad side with (bleep) like that. He needs to mellow down and let nature take it's course. Sooner or later he'll get his.

Not true, in fact it takes an awful lot to get Kobe talking to the refs. But lately, it has been egregious. Come on a guy in Miami shot 28 (bleep) FREE THROWS! 28!!! Just so happens that guy is the ESPN/David Stern BJ recipient. Anyone that doesn't think Kobe is getting the shaft is blind.

Getting involved with the refs is like getting charged with sexual assault. Once you've crossed it, it's hard to repair.

refs were consistent on both sides in terms of touch fouls. Kobe is lucky he didnt get t'ed up for jawing at the refs and playing kick ball.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. Sorry BH.

Kobe wasn't attacking the basket enough. He has been playing more games like this than in years past, where he settles for too many jump shots. He needs to realize that when his jump shot is off, he needs to either attack the basket, or set up his teammates.

True, the refs probably missed a few calls on Kobe. However, they were letting the players play. Kobe gave them PLENTY of opportunities to T him up, but they didn't. We should all just be thankful that Kobe isn't one - or even two, since he could have been ejected - technicals closer to getting suspended.

I agree. I was at the game and it was getting to be a distraction. At one point in the 3rd quarter, leading into a TO, Kobe actually grabbed a ref by the arm -- I thought he would get a tech for sure.

The refs stunk tonight, but so did Kobe. Worst game of the season; I'm sure he was just frustrated.

Just trying to lighten things up. But seriously, only way Kobe can gain back the respect is to yield first. He's never going to be able to "force" them to give him the calls.

good idea in theory
but atleast you made a valid point. Dude needs to stop whining. Ref's will not blow a whistle for you unless you attacvk anyway. His rep lately is that of a jump shooter. Guys like AI, Wade and Bron have the rep of being attackers. They will always get more calls based on that.
Kobe needs to shut up and he needs to attack more. No referee is going to call fouls on a player whose fast building a rep for taking 30 foot long threes.

Yup. Shooting 13 threes and expecting to get bailed out at the line is fools' gold. Screaming in the refs' faces after every call (plenty of which were clean as evidenced by TV replay) doesn't help either.

Most of those 13 were wild shots... 2 for 13 from 3pt, and 8 for 29 overall. This was one of the stupidest games I have ever seen Kobe play. Spent his whole game whining instead of getting back to play D. Took way too many dumb shots outside the flow of the offense. Kobe needs to reflect on this loss. I look for him to come back strong.

The refs not showing kobe love with FT's has been a consistant thing all season. It's a shame when the best player in the L has to "beg" the refs for calls when other stars get those calls made more consistantly. I noticed this especially when we are playing home games. It seems as if the refs "strip" us of our home-court advantage. That really pisses me off b/c the only time kobe started to get those calls was after the 81 game. some of these refs are hoe-cakes anyway.

Kobe is shooting almost 11 FTA/game. To put that into perspective, MJ only shot more than that one season, the year he averaged 37ppg. And back then MJ drove to the hoop a lot more than Kobe does. He's getting plenty of love from the refs. Just because he complains on every call doesn't mean they are out to get him.

That's because there were less free throws back then. It was a more free flowing game. These days the refs want to try and control the outcomes and the flows of the games.
