His Jersey will be hung in tonight's game. Jazz vs. Wizards. They just showed a video of Malone in NBATV. Now I changed my mind, Malone is in my top 10 favorite all time players, also I feel sorry for him for not winning any rings. He is an amazing player, best PF in history.
I compare Malone and Stockton to Steve and Shawn, they remind me of the duo.
In the show they said the 5 syllable word announcers say in every game is "STOCKTON TO MALONE!"

I'll probably tune in around half-time just to catch it. wasn't very fond of karl before he came to LA, but I admired his work ethic and passion. _________________ "I define success by championships, by winning..." Kobe Bryant

I really became a Malone fan after his season with the Lakers. His was the ultimate professional and a calming influence in a season that had way too many dramas.
The thing that impressed me the most with his game was his passing, he was a great player to have at the high or low post because of his court vision.
Shame he fell out with Kobe, they seemed real close. _________________ "The advice I get from Magic, Michael and those guys, that's always sacred," Bryant said. "That's going to the mountain top and talking to Buddha, know what I mean? That's privileged information." |

Cant blame him for trying though, it seemed to me like it was all in jest on Karl's part. _________________ "The advice I get from Magic, Michael and those guys, that's always sacred," Bryant said. Yeah, I watched it. When Karl was speaking, he wasn't making very much sense. He kept jumping around from topic to topic. I started to wonder if he was drunk, but then they interviewed him later during the 4th quarter and he sounded like himself. Maybe it was a combination of being tongue-tied and the emotion of the moment. I loved what he said to the young players in the NBA about respecting the game and it's not about you. Compared to Scottie's jersey retirement, though, it wasn't very impressive. Great to see Karl, though. One of my top five most favorite players of all time, as my username suggests. Funniest moment? When Stern, the Jazz owner (Larry Miller?), and their GM got booed when their name was announced. |
