My hopes last draft.........was Bynum then Charlie V.......With Ike Diogu next......
I still like our pick in Bynum.......but still wonder if Charlie V and odom along with kwame might have been the better choice down the road........But,you cannot go against picking a very high on potential true center.......So i stick with my first choice in Bynum over Charlie V.... |

Charlie has always had the talent to excel in this game, the only knock on him then was his mind & heart for the game. Glad to see him putting it all together. _________________ #2 Lonzo

It appears that the exceptions are UCLA topics and Charlie Villanueva. |

I was hoping the Lakers picked him up on draft night, would have been a great addition. Not a surprise to me when the Raptors chose him "high"
oh well..best of luck to him _________________ A Clipper/Laker Fan

That UConn 2004 team was loaded.
Okafor, Gordon, Villanueva, Boone, Marcus Williams, Denham Brown, Rashad Anderson.
That was a great team. |

It's still strange that the Raptors picked him when Bosh has a similar game and has said that he wants to move to more SF play as well. It took a Bosh injury for Charlie V to go off.
Makes you wonder how hard the Raptors really are going to push to keep Bosh when he's a restricted FA - or maybe how much they'll shop him in a sign-and-trade. _________________ "Everyone wants to be Mamba-licious." - me

That was the thing about the Raptors drafting Villanueva. Bosh and he are basically the EXACT same players. Both are SFs in PF bodies. Why draft two guys who are relatively the same when there were picks such as Bynum, Granger, and Diogu still on board who could either potentially start at C down the road, start at SF NOW, or start at C with less upside NOW respectively. Two of those guys are better 2-way players already (Granger and Diogu) and Bynum is TRUE C.
Didn't make sense then, doesn't make sense now. And I was one of those that said we should draft CV if the previous 3 had already been drafted. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. if we had villanueva on this team we'd be a force in the west. he'd be amazing in the triangle. the passing he and lamar could bring, versatility, and range would be so perfrect. i just hope the raptors will eventually lose him. i'd throw almost anything at them right now. i think we could have had a shot at trading chris mihm, a first pick, and smush for him, but now i highly doubt we could after this game.
mihm, a first pick, smush, cook, luke, another first pick, whatever they want. this team would be amazing.
kwame/villanueva/odom/kobe/(mle pg) off the bench you have bynum, turiaf, luke, jackson and sasha. that core could really be a championship squad. young yeah, but so much talent.
toronto needs a real center, mihm is a top 10 center arguably, for sure a top 15 one. we could throw a bunch of first picks at them because we really have enough young talent already. i doubt theyd do it now after his performance as of late. |

I'm sure they would love Mihm, because Bosh would love to have a legitimate center. It's a matter of what they are willling to move. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

IMO Toronto is not giving up Vill. They think they can play both him and Bosh at the same time...and right now it looks like they can. |
