|
|
Melo, not to far off of wade in reality. less assist of course, he isn't a guard at all. not his job, and he has a passing pg over there. worse Fg%, but better 3pt shooter(not good, but better then wade), everything else is close. So why not include this guy? his team is doing well, and unlike wade, he doesn't have a dominant big. he has a hurt camby(always hurt), and kenyon martin(good pf, but not outstanding). and dre miller(a good pg, but non shooter). no other real shooters at all over there, means melo is going to be double teamed. No center, plus no 3's equals double team the scorer. Not so for Dwade. Not so for Steve Nash. Not So for Dirk. but is so for kobe. kobe and melo have a similar problem. no real you can count on hired guns to spread the floor. see san an, see detroit with billups and sheed, and a little bit of prince.
why do you think no one doubles ray allen or Lewis? because they can just kick it out to a B-2 bomber, and then what.
2.Pau Gasol-His stats are solid, and his team is playing well. who's in memphis anyway? a couple of good guys. but no stars. no Gasol recognition for mvp at all? |

I have been talking about Gasol. Of course, many here believe the Griz would be a 6 seed without him. As for Melo, he has been playing well of late, but he hasn't been that consistent all season. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Imagine if Kobe had Camby, Nene, Martin, Miller, Boykins, Johnson, etc...
Camby has still played many games, is an excellent interior defender and has a midrange jumpshot. Martin is also injured oftentimes, but solid, yet overpayed. Miller is a solid PG who does not have an outside shot but does that freaken matter? Boykins' is incredible anyways.

Did Mitch Kupchak blow a blockbuster deal we don't know about? |

Thanks for the compliment. Of course Kobe wasn't going to go to Denver, he wasn't going to go anywhere except the Lakers. But if someone wonders what he would have been like playing in Denver, it could have happened. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

First of all the reason he cameback to the Lakers was Dr.Buss
there is a better chance Kobe would've went to Sacramento then Denver not that it matters but what the other poster pointed out was the other players Gasol & Melo have supporting cast and not every one of em can be mentioned as MVP. Kobe is being considered because hes lifting a bad team to the playoffs like i mentioned yesterday in the thread. |

MVP
1. Nash/Kobe/LeBron - I honestly can't decide yet.
2. Wade
3. Billups
4. Brand
5. Gasol
6. Dirk
7. Tony Parker
8. Kidd
9. Chris Paul
10. Marion
To me, "Mello" isn't even in the conversation. All he does is score. He's only an inconsistent rebounder, and he makes no impact on defense. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

Excellent list. The homers and haters will hate it, which means its's probably right. The only change I would probably make is dropping Lebron into a tie with wade. Just don't think he brought it out of the gate, but terrific lately. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. yeah, anderson hunt or whatever that guys name is from unlv, said that lebron deserves the MVP for the way he has played these last 7 games.
holy crap. standards have dropped.
anyone can take a snapshot of a few games and say "WOW HES THE MVP!"
there is no doubt in my mind, that if the whole season is judged in total . . . KOBE is the MVP. _________________ Los Angeles Lakers |

Why can't America realize that falling in love with Kobe doesn't mean breaking up with Michael |

nope, you know why brand isn't higher on that guys list. the same reason wade, nor lebron, nor nash, should be there. because without sam cassell, without mobley, without maggette, the clippers are out of the offs. Wade has a team, lebron has a team. Nash is playing along side a co-mvp candidate. Kobe has LO(as you guys call him, mr. inconsistent) and a team full of 6th to 9th men. |

I can't wait for the first round for this to be over...
Oh wait actually the second round, because people will be complaining and whining about who got MVP.
Wait I actually can't wait until 2008 offseason... WE BETTER SIGN SOMEONE... |

Laugh all you want, but they ARE on the list. I don't think they're going to win it, but both of them have had great years and should be in the conversation... but they're not going to win it. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

lol never thought id say this but parker caried the spurs for quite a while this season when duncan and ginobilli were struggling with injuries, he took over and is probably the reason y they will claim 1st spot in the west.
for maron he is a stat machine and that alone puts him mvp contention for some pople, but unlike parker i c y u dont rate marion as a contender. _________________ Jerome James being asked what he thought about his coach calling him selfish, his response was:
