PostPosted: Fri Apr 07, 2006 1:34 am    Post subject: Is George Karl kidding me?? (foul calls on Nuggets vs. Kobe)

"I just wish that Andre or Carmelo would get half the calls that Kobe Bryant gets. I mean, it's very frustrating when sometimes on your home court you don't get a good whistle," Karl said.

Kobe was getting hacked all over the court by Buckner and Patterson all game long. Melo and Andre Miller both drew late fouls on Kobe for stuff that Buckner and Patterson were doing all game long to him. The refs gave them the calls at the END of regulation and in OT - you know, when the refs are supposed to let the players decide it.

On the four-point play, it wouldn't have even gotten there if the refs had called the grabbing and holding before Kobe even got the ball, so that's their own fault - Karl has NOTHING to complain about (except his gut and his shiny dome and that's HIS own fault and maybe his genes).

He's a bitter (bleep) who's been owned in the past by this franchise. He should expect it to happen again.

I really, really, really dislike George Karl. The guy just has this ignorant smugness about him that annoys the hell out of me. Also, these assinine comments of his are getting a bit old.

What the heck is this old man talking about? Carmello got away with 2 travels on fast breaks, right in front of the refs. I hate George Karl and that scar above his lip.

George Karl is just working the refs. Just like every other coach. It may be annoying, but it is smart on his part ... especially if the Nuggets meet the Lakers in the playoffs.

He's made it well known in the past that he hates Kobe Bryant. Doesn't surprise me.

That's just a way to work on the refs. Just like Phil has&will slip some stuff like this before/now/in the future.

Don't get so over anxious and defensive. He wasn't talking abour ur momma or gf , was he?

I'd like to see Karl take a FOUL like this, and then just shut his pie-hole!

Karl is an idiot. Denver was getting bailed out over and over again in OT and he still has the nerve to complain about officiating. What an idiot.

Kobe got punched (ok, just poked) in the face, followed by a Melo carry. No call both times.
Patterson tackles Kobe and takes out his legs from underneath, no call.

Karl is one of my least favorite coaches. He wears out his welcome with his employers and players, he hasn't won anything, he constantly whines and complains. He seems to have an inferiority complex, and particularly dislikes the Lakers. And I think (don't really know) that there is a rift between Karl and Kupchak, having to do with Kupchak not helping/supporting Karl despite their Carolina connection.

I don't really care why he acts the way he does, I just don't like him.

Carl knows how to coach, can't say the same thing for his post-game thoughts and soup for the soul.
