So, with so many rumors going around these days, which move do you like the most (assuming Indiana trade is a done deal):

Yeah, Hornets trade sounds like the best deal of the bunch.

I have to agree the Hornets is the best deal for us. because we get an upgrade at both post positions. Then all we have to do is focus on the PG position.

Gotta be the Hornets deal (the 1st one where LA would get Brown/Mags for Butler/filler).

I'm not gonna let myself get too excited about this potential deal because this would improve the Lakers bigtime instantly and I don't think it's gonna be that easy/this soon.

Unless Mitch/"Savior" believe that Green will truly be a star (McGrady lite), I agree with keeping the two 1st rds.

The Hornets trade will give us a solid starting front court and a very respectable bench. Plus it'll get us Gerald Green

Of those options I'll say Hornets too. I'd take that over anyone we'd pick at #10, but while we're on that - your poll is a bit limiting cuz heck if I want Bynum or Villanueva at #10 when those are both reach picks there. Felton would be a steal at #10, so at least ya put him on there.

Hornets move is the best of your options because it addresses immediate needs.

If the Lakers keep their 10th pick, and there's no capable big left, I want Jarrett Jack.

Hornets and it's not...you know what I mean...

As long as they pass on Green and pick Paul/Deron/Felton, it's a good move...

Draft Green and we are STILL short...unless they know for SURE that they can sign Daniels/Watson/Duhon/Jaric/.../et cetera for the MLE...

If they draft Green, they better start both he and Kobe in the backcourt...I ain't waitin' 2-3 years for no scrub HS'er to develop...I want these guys rollin' from DAY 1!!!!!

we definatley need that Bender deal to go down first to get that 17th pick for insurance just in case any other deals fall through.

However, if everything happens as it should. If we get Magloire, Brown, and the 4th pick. Without giving up Bryant, Odom, or Mihm I would seriously have to say the MITCH KUPCHAk went from the WORST GM in Lakers History....to "ALMOST' the same as the BEST GM in LEAGUE HISTORY in JERRY WEST.

Oh well let's hope Kupcake surprises us and does a deal that will get us a team that can compete for a championship, at least it'll save him his job.

Hornet deal. But only if we have to give up one of our first round picks (assuming the Bender deal goes through). Sign a PG - Paul, Felton,Willliams. Grab Bynum, Diogu, or Simien with 17 or 10th, which ever one we don't have to give up, and grab Griffen with part of the MLE, and another veteran PG with LLE. That would be an amazing off season, and I think realistic one, if Mitch plays his cards right.

#4 guarantees us Paul or Deron as well. Would you rather have two future role players, or our starting point guard of the future? Making the 1st NO trade and taking a PG with the 2nd NO trade fills our two biggest holes right there.

what exactly do we have to give up in the HORNETS trade?

10th? Mihm? Butler? 17th? Chucky? Jumaine?

What do we give up to get the 4th pick included?
How do contracts match?
does this deal have to be within 15% or 25% (new CBA)?

*Sorry, but I am really getting excited for all these different scenarios and opportunities to improve our team

my first post, long time lurker.

new orleans trade would be great,

grant +butler + 10 or 17 for magloire, brown, and 4.
draft deron with 4, bynum/diogu with 10/17, salim with 39.
sign griffin with mle. sign lue with lle.

our lineup would be

deron/lue
kobe/salim
odom/jj/bender
brown/griffin
magloire/mihm/bynum or diogu
ir=divac/chucky/cook

this is more pipe than real. i just hope SOMETHING like this happens. not to mention, the bender deal must happen for this to be possible. whatever happens though, i hope mitch sees deron, not green. deron is a perfect fit and phil would LOVE him despite his speed.

please disagree if you have any problems with this post. (im not even sure if salaries match)

lets all hope kupcake best of luck.

As an alternate, go for the Utah deal IF we can get Kirk Snyder or Raja Bell (S&T) along with the Booz. Finally get a little backcourt depth.

I think we can go for Raja independently, MiM. He'd be very realistic for the LLE. The Boozer deal is dead so we need to let that one go. It died last year when the Jazz fans literally freaked out.

I'd choose the Hornets trade because we instantly have muscle and toughness up front and depth behind it by sliding Mihm and Grant to the bench. No way we'd get to keep the 10th pick or that we'd be moving Grant in that deal. It's not like we're doing them a favor here. Every player coming back would be quality in that deal, along with the 4th pick in the draft.

That said, the Hornets trade was allowed to be put out there in the public because it has little chance of happening. If the Lakers really believed they could make that deal, as stated in Eric's column, they wouldn't be letting people in on it. It's a discussion, but not the most likely trade to play out - unfortunately.

There are other things going on behind the scenes, though, that we're not privy to -nor should we be.
