what's the most disappointing album you ever bought? I have to admit I sometimes am a sucker for record review or media hype. I remember reading a review on an artist name asop rock and the album itself had a lable with all these great things written about the album, plus I like the artwork on the cover. when I threw it in my car stereo I found myself forwarding each song tell the first crappy song came on again. Its funny because when ever this happens to me I try to force myself to like a song but after 24 hours I realize its just crap.

Metallica St Anger was a major disappointment. It was good but no where near Metallica's level of perfection.

Pearl Jam has gone way downhill ever since they decided to get Political...but that's the case for many bands.

Nirvana also went down hill after Kurt died.

NIN new album only has one or two good songs. Pass on that one.

I think I only listened to that album twice.

and Daddy Yankee's Barrio Fino wasn't that great. but someone bought that for me.

the high risk of being disappointed is the reason i haven't bought an album in 10 years. and i have about 90-100gb of music.

The new tool album is a disappointment. Only a few of the songs rock truly hard and it will likely be another 5 years before they put out anything new again.

I've been a huge fan of Outkast since Southernplayalistick, but the last double album just stunk. Andre's was OK, but Big Boi's was pretty weak. After Southern, ATLiens, Aquemini, Stankonia, it just wasn't up to par. Huge disapointment.

Also, every Radiohead album after OK Computer. Loved their first 3 albums, but now Thom York seems to have lost the ability to enunciate.

Funny how both those guys seem to have been so underrated early in their careers and now they're overrated. It's like critics jumped on the bandwagon late and refuse to jump off.

You know Ocho, I've tried and tried to get into those albums, but just can't do it to the extent that I was into the first 3. There are a few songs off each of those albums that I find pretty good, but in general they're just not for me. Of course, that didn't stop me from getting tickets when they play here at the end of June...can't wait for the show.

socks- i hear ya...they're very different and not necessarily easy to listen to. i would suggest perhaps partaking in some herbal refreshments, put some good headphones on and give it another shot. it's beautiful music.

I cant understand them lately because thom can't seem to say a word without slurring it .

Saw them and the Pixies at Coachella a few years back though and they were both awesome.

Now I know many people would disagree with me on their later stuff, but the Pixies are a band that has NEVER disappointed me.

Weezer - Make Believe

disappointed me pretty badly

Was expecting Pinkerton kind of impact but that may be setting my Weezer standards too high.
