Watching the Suns/Clips I wasn't too upset. PHX dominated Game 7, but OMFG, does anybody watch what Nash does when he goes to the hoop, particularly if he makes a spin move?

Steve "centipede" Nash gets away with murder. On one play they had a slow-mo from a backboard mounted cam so you could clearly see his footwork. He picked up his dribble near the top of the key, with left foot down, then he set his right foot down, his left, his right, his left etc. I counted 5 foot-falls before he released the ball. That's 4 full strides.

And Ginoseli? The guy invariably travels in the lane. He had a couple legit drives tonight, but most of the time he just runs through the lane without dribbling like he's playing team handball.

"King James"? Well we know he gets superstar treatment and the height he gets on his break-away dunks is spectacular, but when you watch the guy on an ordinary post move it's usually palm the ball followed by three full strides without a dribble.

Personally, I give the award to Nash, the MTP (most traveling player). Somebody should put together a video on this guy and expose his "fancy footwork."

I would say anyone who drives the lane alot is going to travel at times. The reason in my experience, is that the defense suddenly (unexpectedly) takes away or reduces the space to the path that you were aiming for, so you end up doing something creative in the heat of the moment to get there, or get open to get your shot off.

As much as I like the chosen one, he travels on every other play. I was watching his feet the other day on almost every play, and he usually takes 3 steps on his drives and almost always changes his pivot foot. Yet I only saw one call against him. Haven't noticed Mop Head or Ginogoblin.

It has to be LeBron "Southwest Airlines" James.

Ding. You are now free to move about the lane. Ding.

It's a tossup between (my, umm, birth certificate says I'm only 21) LeBrawn or (I've fallen and I can't get up) Ginibbles. I can see why it's hard to call Ginibbles travels, because the refs have to spend so much time watching his flopping that it get confusing as to whther he's moving his pivot foot or yet again going untouched to the floor. But Lebrawn does most often look like Willy Cayote preparing for his rocket launch when he gears up to go in the lane. I know they get an extra step in the NBA, but Kong get's to get into a full fledged Kentucky Derby gallop.

No one gets away with more on a basketball court than Lebron James. I suppose Wade and Iverson are close, but James gets calls Jordan never got.

Plus when it came to traveling and palming, Jordan didn't do it because he was fundementally sound.

Of those three?

Easily LeBron.

Alot of stars get away with a few travels here and there in the NBA.

But LeBron in particular got away with a suspiciously large amount in the
playoffs (including one that won him a game, without which the Cavs
would have been a Round-1 exit).

Gotta incorporate context a bit - and that makes LBJ "The King."

I'd always considered AI the league's top travel agent, but LBJ is giving him a run for his money.

naw, my boy Dwade is a Carry artist. the guy reminds me of magic how he dribbles. at least magic was 6'9 so he had an excuse. but D.wade brings the ball from one side of his body all the way over to the other side. not in a cross over. but in a Carry over. cuff the ball and bring it right over the defenders hand and lay it back down on the other side. You ever see someone who already knows this move is coming? hilarious. then d.wade starts travellling and trying to draw bogus fouls on his jumpshot, where he leans into people.

It's between Nash and LeBron, but I would have to give the edge to Nash.

It seems every game I watch, I see him travel at least 4-5 times.

I don't know that Iverson travels as much as he is the King of Carry.

I think the correct answer would be every NBA player. As long as the refs won't call it, the players will take advantage.

The Chosen One can walk on water and fly through the air. He doesn't need to travel when he's got super powers like that.

IT MAKES ME SICK THAT THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS TRAVEL OR CHARGE EVERY GAME THEY PLAY IN AND IT ALMOST NEVER GETS CALLED:

Tony Parker
Manu Ginobli
Dwane Wade
Steve Nash
Leondro Barbosa
Lebron James
Steve Francis

MAKES ME SICK!

So does that mean it doesn't bother you when all the other NBA players travel without it being called?

No, just that these players get away with travelling AND charging at such a higher rate then all the other NBA players and are considered good to great players is just utterly annoying...

Kobe does not get Tony Parker calls. Kobe HAS TO shoot more jumpers then any one of these guys because he doesnt get Tony Parker calls.

The guy drives to the basket like he's trying to break through a defensive line. He picks his line, lowers his shoulder and goes in full bore no matter who's in his way. What amazes me is how often he will nail a guy and have the call go his way.

I know it's not officially in the rules, but haven't they historically given the call to the defensive player even if they're not totally set when the offensive player lowers his shoulder and basically tries to ram through the defender?
