|

I live in Atlanta and it is so painful to watch these bums lose game in, game out, but when players leave the team, they just seem to blossom into really good players. Most recently, Jason Terry and Boris Diaw. I used to watch JT throw up shots and make half of them, and then he played absolutely no defense. Diaw...I don't even remember much about him, but now, they are known throughout the league. I guess it's the trickle down theory, starting with ownership. Ever since I've been here, Hawks ownership has always been full of clowns. _________________ Defense is my business, and business is good! |

You can add the Wiz to that discussion.
They had Rip, Big Ben, Juan Dixon, and Steve Blake.... |

nope. its not the exposure perch. we all look at Atlanta games from the west coast. i guess because we're still attached to wilkins. but the reality, is because its a losing mentality down there. you come in, and you try to win some games, and you lose a few close ones. and no one really cares one way or the other. the fans dont say much, because they expect losing. the owner ship isn't tripping to hard. because they expect losing. So after those first few tough loses. you start to realize "just get my paycheck and try to keep my average up so I can be traded or picked up for good cash once I become a free agent". Look at Saleem. That guy wants to win bad. but just like i said, he found out, that the best thing the ATL has to offer this year. is Snap Music. thats about it.
I'll say this. ATL started going down hill, when they Did Wilkins wrong and he became a clipper. worse business move of all time. even worse, they recently asked him to come back to be with the organization. Dominque was the hawks. how in the world is he not president of basketball operations already? |

Haven't paid any attention to the Hawks (big surprise) but is it possible that they keep getting good draft picks and then let them go or give up on them before they have had a chance to mature?
Clippers used to do that all the time. |

At least the Wiz are doing something with their team, though. |

i've always thought that the Lakers should take some players from the Hawks. they just seem like a gold mine for wasted talent. |

It's like when you play for the Hawks, you have hit rock bottom. Either you are on your way up to a better team, or you are on your way out of the NBA. Even if they have no exposure...that's not really an excuse. How much exposure can you get in Memphis? Yet, you bring in Jerry West and Hubie Brown, and now you are headed to the playoffs...in the Western Conference, no less. Like postandpivot said, it's just a loser mentality down here, and everyone, ownership, players, and fans just accept it. I think Bob Johnson could have bought the team when he was shopping, but he decided to pay an extra $50 million so that he could start fresh. _________________ Defense is my business, and business is good! |

Jason Terry has always been good, but exposure was lacking in Atlanta. Boris Diaw I've only heard of once or twice maybe.
As for Josh Smith to the Lake Show. I don't think he has the mental toughness to work through the triangle... |

What about golden state?
If you leave the team early, youll become a star.
If you were a star and you come to Golden State, that becomes the end of your career!! _________________ Panthas |
