The knicks will improve slightly from being the league second worst team (while tops in salaries paid!!) with an horrible coach who seeks incompetent protagonism. Lets remember Isiah first coaching tenure turned (Larry Brown's built and followed by Bird) contender Pacers team into a first rounder loser for three straight years. Larry Bird fired him immediatly after becoming team manager, coming back from retirement.
Dolan is just a spoiled kid wasting his fathers' money.
Marbury and Francis are likely to get green light to hog, as Isiah will surely be less stringent of two point guards. I see them both averaging 20 shots a game, and less than 10 comined assists.
The Knicks record will improve slighty, as the hogs will have the mouths full of shots (missed) avoiding them to sulk all the time, but playoffs will be a mirage for the next few years. |

Hmmm, I guess Larry just didn't "coach the game the right way" with the Knicks.
Funny what happens when the refs aren't fixing the series for you, I think the poor guy actually thought his coaching did something in the 2004 NBA finals fix. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I expect the Knicks to make the playoffs next year.
They get the 20th and 29th pick in the draft
Plus they got all their positions covered.
Marbury/Nate Robinson=$20,000,000.00
Francis/Crawford=$22,000,000.00
Q.Richardson/Jalen Rose= $24,000,000.00
Channing Frye/Malik Rose/David Lee=$10,000,000.00
Eddy Curry/Jerome James/Maurice Taylor=$25,000,000.00
Coach Isiah Thomas=To keep his job.
If you didn't see what happened last year, how would expect this team to do in the upcoming season? _________________ SCHROEDER/CARUSO/COOK

Brown will land on his feet. Getting fired this early gives him a better chance of finding a job. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

Knicks claim Brown violated Garden policy
By BRIAN MAHONEY
AP BASKETBALL WRITER
NEW YORK -- The Knicks contend Larry Brown broke Madison Square Garden policy with his roadside interviews, a decision the team believes could wind up saving them millions.
The Knicks fired Brown on Thursday after one season as their coach and replaced him with team president and general manager Isiah Thomas. Brown has four years and a reported $40 million left on his contract, but the Knicks say the Hall of Fame coach is not entitled to all of it because of his disregard for team policy.
Since James Dolan became owner of the Knicks and Rangers, Madison Square Garden policy specifies that any interviews must be done with a public relations official present - with no exceptions, according to a person familiar with the policy, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because this matter has not been resolved.
After reports surfaced in May that Dolan was considering buying out Brown's contract, the Knicks made neither Brown nor Thomas available after they worked out potential draft prospects.
Reporters soon began waiting near the entrance to the Knicks' training facility in Greenburgh, N.Y. On a few occasions, Brown pulled his car over to speak, saying during one interview he felt like a "dead man walking." |
but the laughs just keep coming.....
Quote: | The same paper (NY Daily News) also says Isiah Thomas is looking to unload Quentin Richardson. From a basketball standpoint, trading Q-Rich makes no sense, considering that Isiah wants to switch to a Phoenix Suns-type system and Q flourished in that exact same system. But here’s where it gets interesting: Richardson was reportedly known to be Larry Brown’s biggest supporter amongst the Knicks players … |

The Knicks look like a bunch of teenage girls arguing about boyfriends.
But wasting millions in the process. |

In the meantime, they're basically throwing Isiah under the bus.

"I'm saying this right with Isiah here. This is his team," Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan said Monday. "He made this bed. There's nobody better than him to make this thing go forward.
"But he has to do that and he has one year, one season to do that. At this time next year, Isiah will be with us if we can all sit here and say that this team has made significant progress towards its goal of eventually becoming an NBA championship team. If we can't say that, then Isiah will not be here." |
There's no way they turn it around this year. Might as well say bye bye to Isiah right now. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Brown was exposed as far as being a legend is concerned. However, I hope the Knicks have to pay him every penny they own him under the contract- the fair price for stupidity. |

Yeah, they're good on paper - but paper don't bring playoff appearances. Between those guys, none of 'em plays defense, except maybe Channing.
I expect these guys to do better, cuz really Larry Brown sabotaged himself and turned in one of the worst coaching jobs in history last year. On talent alone they should win a good amount of games, but unless some major trades happen, that starting lineup is a tough one to win games with. |

I heard that on SAS show today (Zeke was on).... Zeke crushed Brown!!! Zeke totally through LB under bus. Said this was all his fault,.. and that he was pissed at LB. If this was a scripted, you would call it unbelievable!!!! LOL... if you want to hear the interview.. they will replay in on the Michael Kay show this afternoon (6pm EST), commercial-free on ESPN Radio NY.

Wow,... Zeke just pinned the Jalen Rose and Stevie Francis trade on LB. LB demanded Dolan get these guys, according to Zeke....
Unfortuately LB can't speak unless he's willing to pass on the $40 million the NYK are due tiopay him... |
