I used to have the craziest collection, but then I realized how difficult and expensive it was to keep up with all of the players. So I traded most of my stuff away and only collected Kobes. I had about 300 Kobes, about 50 of them were game used jersey or floor cards.

Ah, I loved my collection. Sadly, I had to sell them all to pay for some bills.

I'm thinking of starting up and collecting again because it's a fun hobby.

Anybody a collector? And if so, what are your best cards?

Yah, I'm a collector. But now I'm just into trading, not buying - since I have a job and have to save my money more wisely than when I was younger.

I once had a John Elway card with part of his Super Bowl jersey on it, and I traded it into this card shop for $200 worth of Kobe cards.

Yep... I've got a card of every Laker on the team right now, with the exception of Wafer and Green.

Madsen35! That's awesome. Do you try to collect all players in the NBA or just Lakers?

I used to collect all the NBA players. In fact, my grandma used to always buy my big boxes of NBA cards for Christmas, but that was awhile ago.

Now I'm down to just collecting Lakers any way I can, but not really buying. My friend had a bunch of Kobe cards (rookies mainly) and he said that he couldn't find anybody to buy em so he just gave them to me.

That's cool. I don't have any cards right now so I have to start out with buying, probably off of ebay. I think I'm going to try to collect Kobes and maybe Bynum. But it's a little risky trying to collect certain lakers considering that they could be traded. I guess Kobe's the only sure bet.

I know what you mean. I bought some Caron Butler cards right after he got traded to the Lakers, and a year later he got traded. I was kind of upset.

Best cards... hmmm.... They're all in boxes right now, I'm too lazy to look.

I'd have to say my Kobe rookie cards are some of my best ones. I also have some Shaq cards that are worth up to $20 or more. I have a few Showtime cards that my dad found for me.

How bout yourself?

wow. I want Kobe rookies.

I only have a few cards right now, because I just bought some packs a few weeks ago for the heck of it.

I have a Peja Stojakovic jersey card, and also a Luxury Box divisions jersey card that has the jersies of 6 players: Nate Robinson, Tony Parker, Marbury, and some other guys.

Not very good. But whatever. Would you happen to want it? Like for free?

Yeah, or the other one with 6 jerseys. Or both.

I was in New York a month ago and I came across a vending machine selling packs of cards. I just glanced at it, and was shocked and amazed at what they were offereing. Check out the top row:

I bought a couple of packs.....it brought back so many memories.

My collection of Kobe cards is second to none. I built it from '96 to '01.

I was an extreme collector from 1992-2000. mostly B-ball and Jordan cards.

My dad was a collector in the 1960's when he was a kid. He has some great cards like Jim Brown rookies and other football cards.

His baseball collection includes a complete 1967 Topps set.

I have only seen his collection a couple of times since he keeps it in a locked box, but he said I would get them when he dies
