Ice cold gazpacho. Made by moi. I am eating it almost every day for about a month now. Preparation sucks though. I keep making about 5 gallons of it every time I make it and dicing and chopping takes long.

Rio seafood buffett sucks. Set for the rest of the day? They only have the village buffet at night, don't they?

Their lobster is horrible...and the way they cook the stuff sucks...the only thing I liked there last time was the dungeness crab...but I could have gone to a real restaurant instead....shoot...i'd even go to emerils before there....I've stayed at the rio a bunch of times and all of their restaurants are horrible...both buffets, the mexican place, the japanese place (WAAY overpriced) and the italian place (HORRIBLE). whaddya gonna do...it was all comped....no way I'd pay my own money for that garbage.

i don't know why anyone would wait however long it takes to eat there...38 bucks? i can get a decent steak that is 10x better than the rio seafood buffett for 38 bucks.

I'm in NYC next weekend, so I'll head out to a few of my favorites (Union Square Cafe, Nobu, and some tapas place that is supposed to be hot)... but frankly what I'm looking forward to most is swinging by New Haven and picking up pizza. New Haven pizza is the best in the world (beats the substandard Manhattan fare), even better than what I've had in Naples (so far). Sally's white clam pizza is the ticket to paradise.

Within the last month? Probably the new Greek Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. Basically a pizza with chunks of chiken and a Greek salad on top (they put the salad on after the pizza comes out of the oven).

Last night at Emeril's New Orleans Fish House at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas...

Appetizer --
New Orleans-style barbecue gulf shrimp with a buttermilk and rosemary biscuit.

Entree --
Double-thick cut roasted pork chop with sweet tamarind glaze and green chile mole sauce, served with caramelized roasted sweet potatoes and a crawfish polenta "fries' with a crawfish remoulade sauce.

Beverage --
Fresh lemonade.

Dessert --
Banana cream pie with a crust made from crushed bananas, graham crackers and cinnamon, with fresh whipped cream, caramel sauce and chocolate shavings.

MIM
