| yeah, I saw the movie yesterday, longer than I thought and it was pretty funny (especially the tribe part) , the villian Davey "something" was awesome, I enjoyed the movie- its a excellent movie, and like you said there will be a part 3, I won't tell you the ending but you will know there is a part 3, funny and kept you at the edge of your seat, I think its the best film of the summer after Superman.............. |

I liked it. But I think I enjoyed Superman Returns a little bit more. (Then again I saw Superman at a IMAX with 3D).

| I loved Pirates as well - need to see it again though because my girlfriend got sick with like an hour left in the movie and I spent that time worrying about her more than enjoying the movie. They said that they were shooting one movie right after the other. The whole Lord of the Rings plan to save money shooting multiple films at once |

Actually, my coworkers father works on the set, and did the designs for the pearl and the script has just gotten past the editors at this point. |

i know because my sister was suppose to be an extra for that movie while she was studying at ross. |

i saw the first one. it was a slightly better than average action movie. don't know why people went ga-ga over it. haven't talked to anyone who has liked the second one. |

yep, i didnt go watch part 2 because didnt like 1. Only saw about 30 minutes of the first one and didnt like it much. Will give it another shoot though, seeing Part 2's popularity and the 3rd one out next summer probably. On yahoo its listed as an 2007 release. |

| If it wasn't for Johnny Depp, I'd probably not think much of the series....but his portrayal of Sparrow in these movies helps elevate them above typical summer action/adventure movies. |

^^ Just so everyone knows, this is wrong. The third Pirates movie is going to be completed shortly and released next year. Anyway, this movie really was a really, really long prologue to the third one. I mean it was funny and I still liked it, but it did dissapoint me. This quote sums it up for me:
"The dreaded curse of the sequels hits home with a vengeance in ``Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," a noisy and lazy stopgap movie that goes absolutely nowhere and takes 2 1/2 hours to get there.....All that's missing is a plot, amusing dialogue, comic timing, and a reason to exist. Presumably these will come in the third installment, already filmed and due in theaters next May."

She has I swear... I really dont know whats up with this girls now at days becoming sticks... Kate Bosworth is soo beautiful but right now she looks totally disgusting... I don't know if its some kind of famous people stage that they go thru or what but its truly sad...

Totally agree. Same goes for Kate Beckinsdale. Skinny is okay, stick-like is disgusting.
As for the movie. I was disappointed. I just didn't know this was a two-parter. Other than that, I liked it. There's a danger in doing a two-parter. Just look at Back to the Future 2&3 and Matrix 2&3. The first part is always more of a prologue. At least the build-up has great action and good story. It definitely left me wanting more. |
