I do it but in a good natured way. I enjoy suckering a player into going mano-a-mono to the detriment of his team. _________________ Lakers Gonna Lake |

Oh yea. I target a player that seems cocky or just seems like an ass and I go at it all game long. |

I don't usually, but if someone else starts it, then I will pretty much pop off at the mouth for the whole day. _________________ "Kobe Bryant is an absolute nightmare. If somebody else starts it, heck yes I'll talk smack.
In 1 league I was in, some 40 year old baller started talking smack to me (I'm 16 years old) and I'm just shaking my head, thinkin "don't get me started old man." We jawed a bit back and forth, nothing major.
In another league I was in, this kid blocks my shot and starts screaming, right up in my face. Next time down the floor, he has the ball, I block his shot against the backboard, waving my finger at him. We exchange a few barbs after that. _________________ Good Laker book I recommend, "The Biggest What-If's in Lakers History" http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-What-Ifs-Angeles-History-ebook/dp/B00BB3OEC0 |

usually you have to start in order for me to begin, but I love to smack when someone starts talking garbage before the game and I go out and dominate.... |

I'm old school. As Vince Lombardi once said in disgust to a rookie celebrating a touchdown, "Act like you've been there before". |

I remember were were playing in a park. A smack talk between 2 guys on another court somehow ened up with one guy going to his car for his gun. Luckily, the other guys were able to quickly (and bravely) de-escalate the situation before somebody really got hurt. Be careful who you're smacking 'cause u could get owned by a bullet, not funny. |

Nah, Im usually a quiet hustle guy. Only times I get pumped is when I miss stupid close ranger shots..I usually cuss out loud. On rare ocassions when an oppossing player tries to go "KObe" and is nothing more than a dribbling show-boat, with a cocky attitude.... I make sure I get a good hard foul or clean block so i can stare and say" Get that (rhymes with hit) ouitta here!!"
but normally..Im mellow. |

I don't talk smack too much.
Like most of you - I will (a little) if someone else starts it.
But I do talk - ON DEFENSE.
I'm CONSTANTLY talking on D, calling out picks, telling players on my team if a guy has no left, or if he's only looking to drive (or only looking to shoot), I talk in transition... I just try to help my team win.
When everyone talks on D, it makes it SOOOOO much easier to win. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

I usually try to crack the guy up that I'm defending... it either luls the dude to sleep thinking about the funny ish I'm reminding him of, or while he's laughing I jack him, or he gets annoyed telling me to shut up and falls out his game. One of the best tricks in the book if you do it well. |

I talk plenty.
In the post, double comes, quick drop pass to my cutter and the D knows they're about to get it. "Don't double me or I WILL make you look STU-PID!!!"
Opposition gets the offensive board, I sneak down from the perimeter, swat him from behind ala Jordan. "GET THAT (bleep) (bleep) OUTTA HERE!!!!"
But I'm absolutely not above giving my opponent his props when he puts a move on me. If I get used, I'll laugh with a sneakish grin and give him the "good move" wink. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. Uhhh.
Dude. That has to be illegal. If not by basketball rules, by man laws. That's just...wrong.

A little. Some guy swats me from a layup. Pretty bad.
Says, "Don't take that (bleep) in here."
I say. Enjoy the barrage.

I find it impossible to not run my mouth on the court or any other sporting event where I'm not wearing a mouth peice. If someone makes me look bad I just go "OK, alright..." and I motivate myself to top whatever just happend to me. I'm a natural competitor and I always have to come out on top in any type of situation. If I make a simple jump shot I'll be talking about it until I have the ball again. Now that I'm old and slow I feel the need to talk even more trash than when I was younger. It never mattered if I knew the people I was playing against or not, it's just an uncontrollable thing with me. |

I don't want some idiot constantly telling me how good he is. SHOW ME how good you are. Act like you've blocked a shot before. All that talking does is make you look like a jackass when you commit a turnover, or miss a shot. If someone's ability is there, I don't need commentary to go with it, nor do I care to hear what you think you're about to do.
SHUT UP AND PLAY!
And usually, it's some little dork trying to be Kobe, but really coming off like some yapping little poodle. |

I cant stand the new ear of And 1 mix tape wannabes and the one on one play you see so damn much. I hate ball hogs. I hate having one on my team. I hate people who do not play D and cherry pick all freaking game, only to get upset when you dont pass them the ball! The hell with that!!!
I hate crossover dummies that have only that single move in their arsenal. THey use it so much, that they end up confusing themselves and losign the ball, because theyre too busy LOOKING at their dribble!(morons). |

Depends on the game, sometimes when the other team is too cocky my coach tells us to talk crap, but if its a honest team you have no reason to start something.
Thats what my coach tells us. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

This girl really pissed me off today after she screamed "stop reaching" in a real nasty tone. I mean (bleep) yes I reached and got mostly ball, its not like I assaulted her. But its not like I can really say anything to her. (Since I'm a gentleman) _________________ Lakers Gonna Lake |
