Quote: | Although McGrady would seem to be the likely candidate to play shooting guard full-time, the Rockets plan on rotating lineups with the two players. Battier could also share time with Juwan Howard at power forward.

Why not? Works for Phoenix to play a SF at PF - Marion is NOT a PF. Obviously, it can't work full time, but when they want to go small, there's no reason not to try it. |

If it's just a few minutes at a time, I don't see the big deal. We play Luke Walton at PF sometimes when we go small (and Odom at center). |

Marion > Battier.
And when you play an SF at PF, running and gunning is a good offense to utilize that. But JVG isn't like that. |

Really defends PF? Tell that to Corliss Williamson.
Would it mean anything if Shane is 6'9.5" in shoes? _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Yea ok we get it Mike everyone is bigger than Lakers players in shoes or socks lol  Corliss is a very strong SF. Phil even used Luke to defend PF a few times as a rookie. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Nope. Rudy Gay will be another James Posey. |

I respectfully disagree. This is a great Jerry West move in the mold of replacing Nixon with Scott. You get younger and get a player who has a chance to be a semi-star if not a star. You know with Battier that your team isn't going to get any better, and the goal is to win championships. I"m a huge Battier fan (gave me an auto before he ever played a college game), but it was a good trade for Memphis. Gay and Morrison have starpower unlike nearly all the other players in this lackluster draft. _________________ As I've said since Day 1, Bynum will be a bust and we should have drafted Gerald Green instead. |
