I agree. Hendrickson has had enough times out to show us what he can do. I'd rather have Sele, or even Tomko start.

Just have to survive the home stretch, hopefully down the road the Dodgers will cut down to a 4 man rotation dropping Hendrickson. Certainly come playoffs Hendrickson wont even be on the 25 man roster and teams usually only need 3 or 4 starters.

Given the number of games the Dodgers played in a row, it was good they had a five starter rotation. It will shorten for the Playoffs, but it doesn't pay to go that direction until the end of the season.

I would have screamed bloody murder for you to change it back had the Dodgers won yesterday...

Though if the Dodgers end up losing a few series' in a row, we're gonna have you change the title back (or I'mma have to do it for you ). What was it again?? "Dodgers trade Itzuris for Maddux" or somethin like that?

Okay, time to change the title back.

No coincidence that the thread title changes back and the Dodgers pound the giants to the tune of 10 runs by the second inning? 8)

Jeff Kent almost became bastard of the week for almost costing the dodgers the game today. I thought it was gonna be like that game we blew in San Diego earlier in the year. 4 game lead on the west. Go Blue!!

He still ruined Lowes shutout/complete game. He owes the man dinner after that HUGE error.

Lowe was Maddux-like today, according to Omar Vizquel.

Lowe was freaking awesome. Under 100 pitches and it would have been inning over had Jeff put his glove on the ground... woulda been an easy double play. The next batter hit a soft grounder past him too. Ahh well, still good times for the Blue

On a side note nice to see some Dodger fans around here.
With todays ADD generation you would think baseball would have been kicked to the curb on a basketball forum.

I'm giving Kent the benefit of the doubt on that play. When I saw the replays, it looked like the ball skipped and didn't bounce up. Those are the worst bounces. It's still an error, but it wasn't that terrible.

Don't worry. There are plenty of "baseball sucks" forumites at LG. We hear from them once in a while.

Could be a bad series against San Diego coming up. We haven't done well against the Pads this season, and we've got Billingsley (rook), Hendrickson (not exactly our best pitcher), and Penny (who has been in a slump) going for us.

So you aren't just a pessimist when it comes to the Lakers?

Don't worry. They have Chan Ho going for them tonight.

I could kind of sense that when I read some of the junior high posts saying that Chick Hearn beats Vin Scully by a mile at broadcasting.

And Yes the Madres always give the Dodgers a bad time. I have some faith in Billingley though.
BTW Can someone tell me what happened to Brad Penny?
All I see is a 260 pd lumberjack going out there to the mound and getting shelled.

It's called the "Not-Giving-Up-Your-Number-For-A-HOFer" Curse. Give Maddux #31, Brad.

And yes, my pessimism is not limited to the P&G.

Well the thing we have on our side is that the Pads have the worst home record in baseball. Hopefully Billingsly doesn't waste pitches tonight. Just keep throwing strikes. Go Blue!!!

Hopefully Billz turned a corner with his last start. Dude is going to be our number 1 pitcher in a couple years, as soon as he manages his pitch count better. I think our team has the best rotation in the national league, by far.
