My buddy eMailed me this story about an hour ago:
One unbelieveable story
I replied with the following wit:
Did I wake up in 1935 today... That explains the dirty looks I got when I sat in the front of the bus today...
He wrote back 'Maybe' accompanied with the following link:

There are definitely some wacky (and just plain wack) people on this planet.
I wish these stories had asked these people to explain themselves. It'd be interesting to hear them say why they did what they did. |

^^^ Lakersfreak, I looked at that, but when the guy calls it "Hitler's Cross" he wouldn't seem to be using the swastika symbol under its Hindu context.
To me it seems like this guy isn't necessarily bad intentioned, just ignorant of the history of that symbol as it relates to Hitler. |

agreed... As a Hindu myself I was born and raised in los angeles and have visited the homeland a few times.... Never in my life I would think an Indian would display such narrow minded thinking... Its one thing to have the swastika in your business as long as you stick to hindu traditions but to Name it Hitler Crossing to get customer attention is just plain asinine. This guy should have his sign removed immediately and fined heavily... completely stupid...I never felt so ashamed by someone who represented our race....
As far as Swastikas.... I just wish the American People as well as Other Countries know and understand the meaning of this beautiful symbol.. I have them in my house everywhere....not only does it mean luck.. but it also means tranquility and Peace..... Such a beautiful symbol demoralized by a stupid influential man |

this guy obviously had some idea of what he was doing. he obviously got a lot of media attention from this. thankfully, he's being reasonable and is willing to change the name to something less offensive. _________________ "I define success by championships, by winning..." Kobe Bryant

My own personal opinion: My father, and many of your relatives, fought one bleep of a war, against the Nazis... Why should we allow these organizations to exist??... Any organization that espouses intolerance, against other races/cultures, is Anti-American.
By the way... Anyone notice, how most Americans reacted, to the "Black Panthers"??... At the same time, we continue to allow the "KKK", and "Nazi Organizations" to exist... Food for thought... _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |
