Jim Rome's show is always relentlessly pimping this product and it sounds good - it is in theory ideal for me because my office is off the main room and I have no TV in there - so could catch the Laker games online. But has anyone tried this successfully and do you like it? Does the channel you receive on Slingbox depend on the channel your cable box is set to at all times? Any specifics are appreciated. |

Nope, but have seen my friend using it. Looks very cool. He's got stuff from his DVR at home that he can send to his treo or to his work computer. Unfortunately, he's a pistons fan, so it's used for evil rather than good .
Anyway, sorry, can't help with specifics, but I can say that the lag doesn't look bad at all, though of course, that will depend on a lot of different factors. All in all, it looks like a great way to funnel content to wherever in the world you might be. |

but then i'd have to ensure the cable reaches back to my office, right? you'd have to see the config. of my place, but that's a chore or an extra install from time warner. i wonder which'd ultimately be easier/cheaper in the end.
thanks... |
