Lifelong New York Yankees fan JACK NICHOLSON refused to wear a baseball cap sporting the badge of his team's rivals for his role as a Boston, Massachusetts, gangster in new movie THE DEPARTED. Director MARTIN SCORSESE suggested the movie legend wear a Boston Red Sox cap for one pivotal scene, but backed down when New Yorker Nicholson insisted he wouldn't wear the head gear out of loyalty to the Yankees. Instead, the CHINATOWN star dons a Yankees cap in the scene, according to magazine Sports Illustrated.

5A. Are you a Shaq man or a Kobe man?
I'm a Laker man.

6. What is your favorite Laker moment?
Watching Magic (Johnson) trying to teach Vlade (Divac) how to run down the court in the middle of a game in the '80s.

6A. What other teams do you like?
Well, I was born a Yankees fan, and it's quite nice to see that franchise continue to win after all these years. And because of that, I became a 49er fan early on, because they were never winning big until the Montana years.

He's the man. He likes all the same teams as me: Lakers, Yankees, 49ers. And remember when he got in the face of the refs in the 2003 playoffs? GO JACK!

Both of you have great taste! Those are my three favorite teams, too!

Holy crap. If I had been adopted, I would have to think Jack could maybe be my long lost father. I, also, am a lifelong Laker, Yankee and 49er fan. Now if Jack says that his favorite college football team is the Huskers, I'm gonna have to ask my father for some DNA.

He didn't limit his loyaly to the Yankees, he showed he's a Laker man as well.

"While filming in Boston, the notorious Lakers superfan banned all Celtics merchandise from the premises, a top-level production source says: “If he caught anyone wearing a Celtics T-shirt, he’d literally shut down the set. It was no joke,” says the source."

I also remember reading in a book that Jack once mooned some fans at the old Boston Garden when the Celts were beating the Lakers.

Jack Nicholson once told an interviewer from SI in 1985 or 1986 said, "Until you've had the entire crowd at Boston Garden screaming, '<Bleep> you, Jack!', you haven't lived."

When I read that, I decided that Jack freaking Nicholson was one of my all-time sports heroes.

Shoot, even the 'devil' smilie looks like Jack, for crying out loud!

Yeah, cuz the Yankee's were sooo good from 81 through 95. And the Niners have been sooo good this last decade. I get your original point, but it's very, very cliche'd. Every team goes through a lean decade or three. Some more than others, but as long as a fan sticks by their teams through thick and thin, that's all that should be asked.

Extremely good taste my friend!!!

Boy thank god for our Lakers...

They always seem to save us from football and baseball hell...

With our Dodgers just having been swept in the playoffs and our Silver&Black looking like a team in absolute shambles , the Lakers are right on schedule to save us yet again from sports hell...

Can't wait till tuesday...

Lakers Raiders and Dodgers 4 Life baby!!!!
