^ I hope not. All he needs is a better jumper. That is the easiest thing to develop in a young player.
Green better stay. _________________ Station where the act becomes the art of growing up. |

Williams is a lock at this point.
Last spot is Green vs. McKie. Decision ultimately is whether they rather go with a developing player or a veteran presence. From what I hear, McKie gets the nod, despite his injury history. He can still be a leader and mentor even if he's hurt. Also, his $2.5M guaranteed salary may have something to do with it. |

Last summer league and preseason... Wafer was the next Tmac. |
Man what the hell are you talking about? These guys were never serious prospecs both of them were drafted in the second round and they didn't do anything in the preseason so how can you say preseason is meaning less. And comparing Von wafer as the next tmac are you kidding me. Please lay of the pipe!!!!!!!!! |
you must not have been around last summer. |

I am actually suprised about Pinnock... Tex said himself that the kid was a keeper.... Well, we can only hope he doesn't get picked up by some one else, we can get him on the D-League team and give him another shot next season....
Von has potential, but I am not suprised... |

I like Green, but something tells me that ODB doesn't want to eat another Kupchak contract, so he stays on the team over the better fit, Green. Of course, everyone will say, "We have so many ending Ks, maybe they want to use those at the deadline."
Yeah. Sure. That's what they'll do. Use them at the deadline. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Green is gone. The only way either Green or Pinnock was going to get the last spot from McKie was by playing their way into it in the preseason. The Lakers planned all along to keep McKie as an expiring contract, unless Pinnock or Green showed them something worth opening up the spot for. _________________ I got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Shammond or Green are outta here....
Mckie stays.
His expiring contract is too important after this season for upgrading our roster! _________________ 16 and counting.... |

if he was going to be waived, he would have been waived with Wafer and Pinnock. he probably has a greater than 50% chance of staying and its Mckie whose waived.

Maybe they are negotiating a buyout with McKie or they are trying to make a trade ( I know the last is 0,5% possible ).
So they are waiting til the last minute to decide , but with this situation, Green will be the last waived, in my opinion. |

Yes. McKie's value to the team as an expiring contract is greater than Green's as the last guy on the bench. Green wouldn't play, anyway. _________________ I got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell.

some speculate green but when he's started he seems to know how be effective by playing close to the basket. if it's up to his jump shot, he wont be on the squad.
now the question is, who will be on the injured list once this team gets healthy? one will be green/mckie, but who are the other 2 if they have a 15 man roster? them not being healthy keeps that from being a tough decision but after that i dont see how they could NOT move players because everyone else is ready to contribute. |
I think one will be Williams (I think they're regretting signing him), unless Farmar regresses and then it would be Farmar.
The other will probably be one of the bigs depending on health (which could be an ongoing concern with Mihm): Cook/Turiaf/Bynum/Kwame/Mihm.
The other factor could be which team they're playing and added depth at certain positions. |

Not a big surprise. They were both just second round picks, and most second round picks don't make the team. |

Wafer being waived doesn't come as much of a surprise.
Pinnock too. Its a shame. He kind of forced their hand by not playing overseas. From his point of view it was good to see he believed in himself enough to want to go out and prove he was ready. Now he'll have to do it somewhere else. _________________ BORN REBLE |
