99-96 Lakers

I think we will loose if the Suns score over 100 pts. So we have to win it our style with hard defense and keep feeding the rock to our big men. Lamar and Bynum will have to dominate for us to win.

With the suns we should have this line up

Evans
Kobe
Lamar
Ronny
Bynum

Lakers have to keep the Suns under 107 - 110 pts...if the Suns get over 110 pts they will win it...

If Kobe plays I dont expect him to be much of a factor, until the 4th qtr, where he will have to take over.

Right now the Suns are planning for how they will play defense on Bynum. Bynum wont get going until late in the first half...

If we are gonna win the game, the role players have to win it in the first half. Lamar Odom has to have a big big game. In fact I will go as far to say that Odom needs to score at least 25 pts in this game, in order for the Lakers to be in the position to win.

Smush has to give us at least 10 pts, and all the other guys need to get involved offensively.

My prediction?

Lakers 109
Suns 104

Beware, this game could go into overtime, and if it does, the Lakers stil should win, but the Suns will score more than 110 pts...

My prediction: Kobe playing 15 min.

Lakers 102 - Suns 98

Bynum - 27 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks
Kobe - 15 points
Odem - 12 points
Parker - 8 points
Cooks - 17 points
Walton - 8 points
Turiaf - 4 points
Sasha - 9 points
Evans - 2 points
Williams - DNP
Farmer - DNP
Green - DNP
Radmanovic - DNP

Please let Bynum have another break out game.

I actually agree with that assessment completely

If we keep the score below 100, it means we are using the same strategy that won us 3 games in the playoffs last year. 99-96 just seemed like the number that popped into my head.

I expect a solid game from Andrew. He won't explode like he did against the Nuggets, but he should be able to score against Kurt Thomas (as there really is no one else on the Suns that matches up against him). I'm thinking like 15-8-4-2.

I'll also go out on a limb and predict a double double for Lamar, missing the triple double by 2-3 assists. Gonna go with 22-25 for Kobe, with 6 boards and 6 assists. Luke should continue his solid play and score 14 on good shooting. Not that I'm getting too specific or anything!

Yeah, I think Drew can actually have a BIG game against them.

Unless they just swarm him every time he touches it, I just don't see anyone on their team who can stop him.

Seriously.

It just wouldn't surprise me if he ends up having a very big game.

Of course, this is all predicated on the fact that we control tempo and run our offense.

Lakers surprise the Suns and clmp down on defense to hold the Suns to 92 points while scoring 96 to win.

the lakers will have a total team effort and win. its anyone's guess who will step up and be the star because each pre season game featured a different star or 2.

i suspect bynum will again dominate the suns' little big men.

if the lakers slow the offense and dont try to run, they should do ok. also, they have to be much more careful and avoid the approximately 30 turnovers they had in the last game.

i think kobe will play and benefit guys like andrew who wont get the same double team with guys like kobe, cook, smush, lamar, evans, and sasha scoring and being a threat to score.

if they pack the paint to stop bynum, the lakers improved shooters...sasha, smush, cook, evans, et al, will kill the suns. kobe not being double teamed will help. if andrew is 2 teamed he'll rack up some assists. if not, he'll dominate the suns' little big men.

Adrenaline will carry the Lakers far but they can only do so much so shorthanded in this kind of up and down tempo.

The biggest thing that hurt the Lakers last season was being consistent. It seemed like to me, they played well against all the good teams. BUt they struggled with the scrubby teams.

The Lakers have to get on a roll, and win at least 5 or 6 games in a row. Last season they could not win more than 3 games in a row. This season, they need a few good winning streaks, that allows them to feel good about themselves...

Lets say a 10 game winning streak, means they have what it takes to lay together, and have at least one player come and play well on agiven night.

On night it may be KObe, one night it may be Lamar, one night it may be Smush, one night maybe Kwame, but we need all the guys to play well.
