This year I am going to do the most American thing I can think of: I will avoid family and stay home alone for Thanksgiving.

Me? I'm going to overeat with my family and then go get absolutely hammered after to get over having to spend that much time with my family.

Just about any decent Jewish deli will have a good one, but Brent's is the way to go with pretty much all things deli.
And yes, I have driven to Northridge for a freaking sandwich. |

As far as distance for food goes, I've driven to the Oinkster from Anaheim Hills for Burger Week.

It might be the gentile in me but I can substitute out the corned beef for quality pastrami 7 days a week including the sabbath.
