Team stats are updated on PopcornMachine.net automatically after every game (once I upload the data, that is).
You can always check them here: http://popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/teamstats.cgi?team=LAL&type=pergame
This time I've adjusted the group +/- figures per 48 minutes of play.
Here is a summary of scoring and some of the special status I keep track of.

Thanks Popcorn.
Interesting that Kwame leads the team in both +- and adjusted +-. Seems like he's found a home. |

I find this stuff facinating, so I decided to take a look at pairs of Lakers. While I don't contend that this isn't the final word on who is contributing the most, the data does point to Kwame Brown having a huge impact since his late start.
It's a little urprising that Lamar and Luke are the best of the heavily used pairs. But the other groups show that Kwame will soon break into this territory.
And before you throw the end of the bench players under the bus, note that Shammond and Brian, in their 15.42 minutes on the court together, produced a 24.8 +/- per 48 minutes!

Ay, kettlecorn,
maybe its me. but I got lost here
Quote: | Efficiency eff = (points + assists + rebounds + steals + blocks + field_goals + free_throws)
- (turnovers + attempted_fieldgoals + attempted_freethrows) |
are you saying attempted FT's are a negative thing if missed?
and on that same note. is there away for you to throw in a "draws fouls"=attempted FT's into the Good side of Efficiency? or is that what Freethrows thing really means?attempted |

I'm using the NBA Efficiency Ragintg: http://www.nba.com/statistics/efficiency.html
They show the formula as:
Code: | NBA.com evaluates all players based on the efficiency formula:
((Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks) -
((Field Goals Att. - Field Goals Made) + (Free Throws Att. - Free Throws Made) + Turnovers)). |
I guess I should reword mine as
Quote: | Efficiency eff = (points + assists + rebounds + steals + blocks + field_goals_made + free_throws_made)
- (turnovers + attempted_fieldgoals + attempted_freethrows) |
So in essence it is penalizing for missed shots and fts, to take shooting accuracy into account.

are you saying attempted FT's are a negative thing if missed?
and on that same note. is there away for you to throw in a "draws fouls"=attempted FT's into the Good side of Efficiency? or is that what Freethrows thing really means?attempted |
I'm using the NBA Efficiency Ragintg: http://www.nba.com/statistics/efficiency.html
They show the formula as:
Code: | NBA.com evaluates all players based on the efficiency formula:
((Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks) -
((Field Goals Att. - Field Goals Made) + (Free Throws Att. - Free Throws Made) + Turnovers)). |
I guess I should reword mine as
Quote: | Efficiency eff = (points + assists + rebounds + steals + blocks + field_goals_made + free_throws_made)
- (turnovers + attempted_fieldgoals + attempted_freethrows) |
So in essence it is penalizing for missed shots and fts, to take shooting accuracy into account.

Makes sense. Kwame rocks |
