The end of Pistons/Nets was crazy. With the Nets ahead by one, J-Kidd missed a three that could have iced it with about 12 seconds left. Chauncey Billups got the rock and took off downcourt, where he was fouled by Vince with seven ticks remaining. Of course Mr. Big Shot nailed the FTs, giving the Nets the ball, down one, for a final shot. Vince got the rock, and after Tayshaun Prince fell down on D, Rasheed picked him up. Vince made his move, there was a collision, no whistle, and VC missed the jumper. Mass complaining ensued, with Nets coach Lawrence Frank having to be held back from the refs … To the media afterwards, J-Kidd dropped this line: “We come to work, and we work extremely hard at this, only for the officials to screw us. We fought, but that doesn’t mean anything when you have the officials take over the game like that. You go with the Three Blind Mice, and it’s just sad that [ref] Tom (Washington) screwed up that game for us. So how much will Jason’s fine be? About $10,000? … Rasheed even admitted afterwards that, “Earlier in the game, even earlier in the fourth, they probably call that.”
