It Ain't Over Yet... It Ain't Over Yet... That's what I was saying to myself after Bibby hit a three to give the Kings a two-point lead with 23 seconds left. The Lakers then went down by 4 with 6 seconds left. Still, if you know this team, it ain't over yet. Vlad swished a quick catch and shoot three from the corner. The Kings missed a freethrow and we trailed by two.

With 4 seconds left, we inbounded the ball to Kobe...he trusted his teammates...drew the double and fed a pass to Smush who attacked and tied the game with .01 on the clock. Sit down, Sac fans...it ain't over yet.

Kobe would score 9 of the Lakers 15 points in overtime, hitting 5 of 6 FTs down the stretch as well as setting up both Cook and Bynum for FTs in OT. They survived a three bomb from Bibby who brought the lead back down to one and took the 132-128 victory.

The two teams shot a combined 102 freethrows, with nealy half (47) coming in the second quarter alone. This game was about the same length as the triple overtime the Lakers went through. Despite the Lakers scoring 74 points in the first half, the stop-and-go action was ugly. The Lakers led by as many as 21 points in the third before the Kings milked our nemesis to death -- the high pick and roll. Behind the almost-always clutch Bibby, who had a season-high 38 points, they chipped away to take the late lead. They got the Lakers to bend, but not break.

"Inevitably, every time we play here, we wind up having a really great game," Kobe said afterward. With the win, the Lakers sit at 21-11, 10 games over .500...surviving.

Kobe -- -- Just another brilliant game by Kobe, letting his teammates roll early on and lifting them when they struggled late. He scored 21 of his points in the fourth quarter and overtime. He finished wtih 42 points on 11-21 shooting (17-20 from the line and 3-5 from three), he pulled down 10 boards and dished 9 assists...the near triple-double. He set up so many teammates for FTs on the night that he could have easily had it. After fouling Artest out in regulation, Kobe played the entire overtime with 5 fouls. Although Kobe shot 20 freethrows in this game, he could have easily had many more that went uncalled. The refs just don't give him the handcheck fouls like they do others. It's pretty amazing sometimes. This was a very strange game sometimes.

Let's get to the Kobe action during regulation: Early on, he kicked out to Cook for an open jumper. He missed a three late in the first quarter on his first attempt. He attacked the paint, drew five defenders, then wrapped a pass around one to Turiaf for a layup. He posted up in transition and kicked it to a trailing Turiaf for another layup. He tripped over a King and lost the ball as he fell out of bounds. Kobe scored his first point, making one of two FTs with 8:52 left in the second...the Lakers were steamrolling the Kings in the first quarter. On the very next possession, he sent Artest to the bench by picking up his third foul in semi-transition, he made both FTs. He attacked off the high pinch post and scored a layup. He attacked the lane and kicked to Smush for a three and Kobe's fifth assist of the first half. He attacked the paint, got his arm ripped off with no call, got his miss back and drew a foul, he made the FTs. He took a baseline feed from Bynum, turned and hung in the air till his defender dropped then hit a short jumper. He attacked off the dribble and in the post for a series of FTs in the last couple minutes of the half, he hit all of them. He sank a three on a two-for-one possession. He set up Sasha at the end of the half for a three. He had 18 points (11-12 FTs...all 18 points came in the second quarter) and 6 assists in the first half. He brought a smile to Drew's face after attacking and shoveling him a pass for an easy throwdown. He attacked and pitched it to Cook who swished a baseline jumper. He attacked quickly in the set against Salmons from the top of the key and banked an And-1 runner in, he made the FT. Right off the bench, he drained a three over Artest for his first points of the fourth. He then set up Sasha in transition for an open jumper. Working off the pinch post with Cook on the next sequence, he got away from Artest, Cook hit him with a pass and Kobe threwdown. He drained a long wing jumper over Artest, barely moving the net. Wow, Williamson had Kobe's arm, the refs say all ball and it ties Kobe up with 5 seconds on the shotclock (this call shortly after Smush had cleanly tied Bibby up on a drive on the other end but was called for a foul). Kobe threwdown a putback dunk after Cook missed a layup on a dive cut. He swung through and swished a rainbow three over Artest with under 2 minutes left to give the Lakers the lead again. Artest fouled out on the next possession trying to D-up Kobe. Kobe attacked with 15 seconds left, got handchecked once, turned, hands on him again as he shot, no call and he missed. Kobe was then called for a foul before the inbounds pass, giving the Kings a FT plus the ball with 4 seconds left, Bibby missed. Down by 2, the inbounds came to Kobe, he was doubled and quickly hit Smush cutting for a layup to tie the game with a tenth of a second left.

Because of two fouls in the last few seconds of regulation, Kobe started OT with 5 fouls. On the first offensive sequence, we ran some high two-man game with Cook, then Kobe pulled it out, sliced through the lane and finger rolled in an And-1, he missed the FT. He posted up off the dribble and drew a non-shooting foul. He poked a ball loose on one end, then set Bynum up off the two-man game for FTs on the other. Kobe looked like he got away with a travel setting up Cook on a drive for FTs. With all of the Kings keyed in on Kobe, he took the ball to the corner with double teams trailing, rose up and swished the baseline jumper with a minute left. He drained 5 of 6 FTs late in the last few seconds.

Walton -- -- Luke had a tough matchup covering Artest off and on during the game. Eventually, he fouled out and watched nearly the last 9 minutes of the game from the bench. "I feel a lot better now than when we were down by four in the final seconds. It was a long day, but it ended well," Luke said. Prior to that, he scored 16 points on 7-12 shooting, grabbed 8 boards and dished 2 assists. Luke got off to a quick start offensively and later went at the smaller Kevin Martin in the post. On the first score, he cut off Bynum in the post, took a feed and scored a layup. The refs whistled one of Luke's one-handers in the lane for offensive interference by a King. He scored a layup when Bynum kept a miss alive under the hoop. He missed a fade in the lane. He took a behind-the-back feed from Mo and scored an And-1 under the hoop, he made the FT for his 9th point of the first quarter. He was hacked on a layup, went back up and Garcia hacked him again, Luke didn't like that and said so, he made one FT. To start the second half, we went to Luke in the post against Martin. He scored a turnaround bank on his first attempt. Then, on the next trip down, he overpowered Martin for an easy jumphook in the lane. We collapsed the D again going to Luke and on the next deadball, Martin sat on the bench. Luke got backdoored and gave up an easy layup. He drew Artest's fourth foul, posting him up on a great post battle. He then drained a wing jumper over Artest. He bounced a pass between the legs of a Kings defender to Bynum, but Drew couldn't come up with it clean and it was knocked out of bounds. He got into the paint and kicked it to Mo in the corner for a three. He was whistled for a phantom foul on Williamson who missed a layup with 3:48 left and Luke fouled out.

Smush -- -- Smush took it to the hole and shocked Sacramento, sending the game to overtime with a layup taking contact over a help defender. Nicely done. He had his hands full all night trying to cover Bibby and was instantly in foul trouble before the game even began. Smush scored 10 points on 4-10 shooting (1-5 from three and 1-2 from the line). He missed a three on his first attempt. He picked up two fouls in two minutes to start the game and had to sit. Farmar then got lit by Bibby. Back in, Smush drained a three off a drive and kick from Kobe. He took the post handoff from Bynum off a quick cut and scored a reverse. He picked up a phantom foul on Bibby and had to sit with his third at the end of the half. Another bad call against Bibby as Smush tied him up on a drive and was called for a foul. Huge offensive board on a Cook miss, then Smush fed Cook the ball under the hoop for FTs with 41 seconds left. Then came the game tying play. Smush attacked from the top of the key when Kobe drew his man, then passed to Smush and he scored the layup with .01 left in the game to tie it. In OT, he and Cook sandwiched Bibby on a double team, Cook then hit Smush for an uncontested reverse jam. He tracked down a loose ball then was knocked over by Bibby and out of bounds, King ball (should have been a foul). He missed a layup on a baseline drive. With 13.9 second left in OT, Smush was fouled with the lead at three, he made one of two FTs...we would have breathed a bit easier if he could have knocked down both.

Cook -- -- He was serving it up like a fast food Cook early in this one. He had the Kings on their heels out of the gate. He drained a wing jumper that started with a post entry to Bynum. He posted up at the elbow and hit a turnaround jumper. He ballfaked and banked from 12 feet out. He took the breakaway feed from Walton and scored a layup around Artest. He was alone on the wing after a scramble by Bynum for a loose ball, they got Cook the rock and he drained the three, absolutely on fire. He pumpfaked on his next touch, took a couple steps in and knocked down another jumper (a new season-high not even halfway through the first quarter). He missed his next attempt, rushing it a bit. He got tapped on a baseline turnaround. On the other end, he had to guard Artest for a short stint as the Kings went small and he gave up an And-1. Off a backdoor play, he pumpfaked twice under the hoop and banked in an And-1, he missed the FT. He drew FTs after pulling down and offensive foul, he missed the first and then banked in the second. (I'm with Stu, I think he did that purposely. Cook later said he did.) He cleaned up a Walton miss with a putback on the next trip down. He had 18 points on 8-11 shooting in 11 minutes in the first half. He drained a wing three when his man sagged off. He missed a short wing jumper. He swished a baseline 17-footer on a drive and dish from Kobe. He missed a jumper from the same spot on a similar play. Nice dish to Kobe working the two-man pinch post sequence and Kobe threw down. He missed a three but we got it back. Great, great job beating Garcia to the spot on a drive with a minute left and getting the charge call, clutch stop. On the other end, he missed a jumper, Smush crashed the glass, got it back and fed Cook under the hoop and he was fouled for FTs...with his only make the bank FT, he missed the first, then made the second for a 1-point Laker lead. In overtime, he and Smush double teamed Bibby, knocked the ball loose and Cook fed Smush for a breakaway dunk. Bad miss, taking a pumping jumper on the baseline. He was set up by Kobe on a drive for FTs, he made both with 1:32 left, thankfully leaving his short troubles from the line behind. Cook finished with a season-high 26 points, two shy of his career high. He shot 10-19 (2-3 from three, 4-7 from the line. He had just 4 boards in his 34:41 of action. Cook played a good chunk of crunch time ball at the C. In addition to playing at the PF, Phil even had him at SF for a short stint in this one.

Bynum -- -- With the Kings bigman out, Bynum was able to go up against some smaller players. This, however, is a double edged sword as he has to deal with their mobility and range on the defensive end. The Lakers did an excellent job, better than they have in a long time, of getting the ball into the low post to set up their offense. Out of the gates, they looked for Bynum and he caused the Kings problems. He scored 15 points on 5-6 shooting (5-8 FTs), grabbed 11 boards, blocked 3 shots and dished 2 assists in 33:27. Even though he only had 2 assists, he collapsed the D and kicked the ball to teammates to get the offense clicking. He set up Walton for a score on his first touch. He hit Kobe cutting and it led to an open Cook jumper. He was called for a travel on his first post move. He posted up, went to a power drop step, missed, but kept it alive to Luke who scored a layup. He had the ball knocked loose, but hustled after it out past the three line (we then got a three from Cook). Great help D, swatting Artest at the last minute under the hoop. He sealed his man in transition, took the post feed, rather than powering up he spun away from his seal and then banked on the right block (when he gets stronger, he will power those up). He worked the post again, getting contact in the lane and hitting an And-1 jumphook, he made the FT. He grabbed an offensive board, took a slap and put it back in, he missed the FT. He pulled down a long offensive board using his height, it led to an And-1 for Luke. Excellent first stint and he sat with a couple minutes left in the first quarter. Back in, he had a good contest under the hoop and we controlled the miss. He gave it up to Smush who cut off him for an easy reverse. He started his move in the post and drew a whistle against Thomas, he made one FT. He cleaned up a Walton miss with a layup working the offensive glass. He hit Kobe along the baseline for a reverse. He swatted Thomas on help D, but the Kings got it back and scored. He pulled down an offensive board and fed Luke under the hoop (Luke missed the layup, but Cook cleaned it up easily). He had 10 points on 4-5 shooting and 7 boards in the first half. He swatted his man on one end, then Kobe attacked the paint and shoveled Drew a pass for a two-hand throwdown on the other. Abdur-Rahim pumpfaked Drew on the perimeter, got him on his hip and drew a foul. The Lakers then went to Bynum on a couple possessions after that and he drew a foul on Shareef easily in the post and made both FTs. He traveled when Williamson stepped back as he made his post move. The Kings went to some high pick and roll against Bynum and got some plays at the rim for Williamson. Phil talked to Andrew out of the timeout to try to get Bynum to stay back and protect the rim. Out of the timeout, he hit Cook on a dive cut, Cook missed but Artest had to challenge, leaving Kobe for a putback dunk. Andrew shuffled his feet again before putting the ball down and traveled with under three minutes left. After we got hurt by the high pick and roll again, Phil sent him to the bench. In OT, he won the tip easily. He slipped a screen, took the pass from Kobe and got to the line, he made one FT with 2 minutes left. He picked up his fifth foul stepping out on a pick on the perimeter and Phil sat him down. A little sloppy footwork in this one from Bynum and the refs were on top of him. He's been much cleaner that that in the past, Cap will definitely get on him. Good job by Drew anchoring the D at times until the Kings started picking us apart with that high pick and roll.

Radmanovic -- -- Vlad in the corner for three...swish. There is no W in this one if he doesn't hit that quick three with 4 seconds left. He showed some icewater in his veins for the Clippers last season. He showed it tonight coming up big late in regulation. Prior to that, it was a real up and down game from Vlad. He played 12 minutes, scored 5 points on 2-4 shooting and tallied 4 boards (3 offensive). At some points in the game, he was in rhythm, at others he was completely off. Early on, he tipped a miss once to get it back up on the rim, the followed it with a tip in for his first score. Nice extra feed on the break while avoiding a charge and it led to FTs for Mo. Great execution off the high pinch post, dropping a bounce pass to Kobe as soon as Vlad got it and it led to a layup. Then, came his next stint, short but sour. He threw a pass behind Kobe on the break for a turnover. He bricked an awkward jumper, but the Kings couldn't handle his brickage and we got the ball back. Phil then sat him until late in the fourth. Then came the rainmaker, his huge clutch three in the corner only taking a couple seconds off the clock and cutting the lead to one. In OT, Phil subbed him in for Bynum and Vlad didn't help on the pick and roll as the third man and we immediately gave up a dunk...we really need to pound on our defensive execution over and over again on those high pick and rolls.

Turiaf -- -- Ronny played just 10 minutes, but tallied 4 fouls in that time. He's got to watch that with Kwame out, but in this game the whistles were quick and frequent, so no use harping on it. Ronny scored 6 points on 2-3 shooting, grabbed 4 boards and blocked 1 shot. He came in for Bynum with more than 2 minutes left in the first. He quickly picked up a foul in the post. On the next post entry, he drew an offensive foul on Taylor. He scored a layup off a Kobe drive and wraparound pass. He trailed the break and Kobe fed it back to him diving down the lane for a layup. He gave up an And-1 after blocking the first shot under the hoop. He missed a wing jumper. He got into the lane against the zone and drew a foul, he made both FTs. I thought Phil might have gone to Ronny a little more when the Kings were working that high pick and roll against Bynum, but Phil settled for Cook against the smaller Kings lineup.

Evans -- -- Mo played 30 minutes off the bench, and although he's not a starter, you can see Phil really has both trust and the need to have Mo's defensive athleticism out there. Luke and Vlad just can't match up sometimes and you don't want Kobe doing too much heavy lifting defensively if you can help it. So, those Devean George type minutes go to Mo. Evans had 5 points on 2-6 shooting, 3 boards and 1 assist. He drew a charge in the post on Artest who tried to back him down. He took a feed in the lane and then whipped a sweet behind-the-back pass to Luke who scored an And-1. He took an interior feed against the zone and dunked over a defender. He drew a foul on Artest in transition, then missed both FTs (but we would later cash in on the two fouls Mo drew on Artest). He missed a pull-up 15-footer. He missed a three. He drained a big corner three off a kickout from Luke midway through the fourth. He missed a corner three. He was called for a travel, shuffling his feet under the hoop before dribbling.

Farmar -- -- In the game only 2 minutes after it started when Smush got into foul trouble, Farmar looked tentative out there defending Bibby. He seemed to be not sure what to do with Bobby or worried about picking up fouls himself. So, Bibby was shooting over Farmar at will early on, draining several jumpers. Farmar lost the handle of the new, old ball in transition for a turnover. He missed a couple of threes. He knocked a ball off Bibby's feet for a turnover. He hit Bibby on a jumper to give up an And-1. Farmar didn't score in two attempts in 17 minutes. He did grab 4 boards and dish a couple of assists.

Vujacic -- -- Sasha fouled out in just 15 minutes of action. He did it off his worst sequence off ball in overtime. He had some horrible shotclock recognition, passing up on a three, attacking and overpassing in the lane, he ended up charging as the shotclock went off. Nine times out of ten, Sasha jacks up a three on those kickouts. If ever there was a time for him to settle for a three and not attack, that was it...he he attacked with the shotclock about to expire and fouled out. Prior to that he scored 7 points on a good 3-5 shooting, he had 1 assists and 1 turnover. He missed a three on his first attempt. He gave up FTs 90 feet away from the hoop trying to pressure Bibby on the inbounds when we were in the penalty. He was sent to the bench for that one. He drained a three on the last shot of the half as Kobe set him up. He hit a wing jumper, standing on the three line early in the fourth. He fouled Martin on the perimeter and gave up FTs. He knocked down a baseline jumper off a kickout from Kobe.

Phil -- -- Tricky game for Phil. At times, we made them match up with us. At times, we bled and had to match up with them. Both teams threw out lineups that have probably never seen the floor before. Top it all off and Phil has his 19-year-old center in the mix of key minutes... The Lakers looked to establish the post, going to Bynum early and with a rare consistency. Plus, they were attacking quick into the set. The first quarter was up tempo and showed off some nice execution. Glad to see them go to the post like they did... They killed the Kings in the first quarter near the hoop, outscoring them 20-4 in points in the paint. The also outrebounded them 14-7. The team had 8 assists on 15-24 shooting in that 33-18 first quarter advantage... The Kings got into the bonus within the first couple minutes of the second quarter and were shooting FTs. We followed them shortly later. The two teams shot 47 FTs in that quarter combined. Three off the record for a quarter. Ouch... The Lakers shot 59 percent in the first half to the Kings 47 percent. They won the battle on the boards 28-13 and they had an 18-7 advantage in second-chance points... Then, they struggled. The Lakers had a series of turnovers -- bad pass by Kobe, charge by Luke, three seconds by Bynum -- and the Kings started a run in the third. Phil went to a strange Bynum, Turiaf, Cook, Kobe, Smush lineup to match up with the Kings lineup of Abdur-Rahim, Thomas, Artest, Williamson and Bibby. Phil called a timeout when the lead was cut to 11. Out of the timeout, we swapped out Bynum with Mo. They had 7 turnovers and shot 2-11 during a key stretch to allow the Kings to get on that third-quarter 19-4 run... To start the fourth, we went to a Bynum, Luke, Evans, Sasha, Farmar lineup. The Kings threw Williamson against Bynum and attacked off the high pick and roll... Phil took Bynum aside in crunch time and talked to him at length about how we need to defend the pick and roll that the Kings were milking with efficiency... In overtime, Phil subbed in Bynum to take the jump, which we won easily. Then after a deadball on our first possession, he subbed him back out for Mo. So we had Cook, Sasha, Kobe, Smush, and Mo. After another deadball, this time Phil brought Drew back in on the offensive end. After leaving Drew in for a few sequences, Phil put him back on the bench when Bynum picked up a fifth foul. He brought in Vlad. So we had a Cook, Vlad, Mo, Kobe, Smush lineup to close out. The in and out subbing of Bynum shows Phil's level of trust for the youngin when the game is on the line... The Lakers won the battle of the boards 51-36 (but only 62-51 when you count team boards). Having once dominated the points in the paint, we lost the battle 52-50, getting drilled by that high pick and roll...

I don't care what any "objective" fans say about the ref's treatment of Kobe -- my eyes tell me, and have told me for several seasons, that they treat him appallingly. He gets grabbed, pushed, swatted at, wrestled down to the ground, and HIT repeatedly with nary a whistle. It is irrelevant that he shot 20 FTS tonite -- he should have shot 30+ easily. The number of non-calls he gets (where the foul is blatant) is off the charts. The "traditional" rationale on some of the swallowed whistles (when they occur late in games or at the end of quarters) is that the refs want the players to decide the game. Well then why in the hell does Kobe get whisteled for that awful call against Bibby which almost cost them the game?

It's ludicrous and appalling. Anyone who refuses to see the blatant and systematic bias is either blind, in denial, an idiot or a closet Kobe/laker hater.

Kobe shoots a lot of free throws, you say? Not as many as he deserves with his play.

Sorry, but this league is crooked.

i am against all types of ref complaints. i think most of the time the complaints about the refs occur because a fan is upset their team got beat and are looking for an excuse. i think it's a lame excuse most of the time.

however tonight i cannot argue with the anti-ref people. the officiating was so one-sided, so inconsistent, so unfair, and so seemingly malicious it made me sick. the benefit of tivo is that i can rewind posessions and count the number of times kobe is hacked on a play with no call and on the very next possession, watch kevin martin get grazed and here a whistle right away. the refs really seemed like they wanted to either give the kings the game or keep it as close as possible. it was unconscionably disgusting.

this helped to make the victory all the more sweeter. the lakers gutted it out. they had to deal with the bad calls and the kings free throws and the cowbells and the pressure and they came out on top. nobody in the world can call kobe selfish. NOBODY. not anyone who watches the games.

lots of people stepped up. smush, walton, bynum, mo, vlad.....props to all. great win.

Thanks DB. Pretty enjoyable game to watch. 2nd quarter was LOOOOOONG. I really hate the refs and how they changed the end of the game in the 4th. Unfair. But the Lakers pulled through... thankfully.

however tonight i cannot argue with the anti-ref people. the officiating was so one-sided, so inconsistent, so unfair, and so seemingly malicious it made me sick. the benefit of tivo is that i can rewind posessions and count the number of times kobe is hacked on a play with no call and on the very next possession, watch kevin martin get grazed and here a whistle right away. the refs really seemed like they wanted to either give the kings the game or keep it as close as possible. it was unconscionably disgusting.

this helped to make the victory all the more sweeter. the lakers gutted it out. they had to deal with the bad calls and the kings free throws and the cowbells and the pressure and they came out on top. nobody in the world can call kobe selfish. NOBODY. not anyone who watches the games.

lots of people stepped up. smush, walton, bynum, mo, vlad.....props to all. great win.

Oh yeah and that guy who had 26 points, did you forget him ?

exactly. I usually don't like to complain about the refs because they're human, they don't have the benefit of instant replay and if they're looking the wrong way they miss something. refs miss calls on both ends, but last night was ridiculous.

last night was ugly, we got the win. all players not named kobe, got a little more confident.

thanks DB.

I went to bed at the six seconds to go mark, thinking it was over. I was tired, my team was losing...what am I staying up for???

Bad choice.

I'm so glad for your recap DB! How cool was it to log in and check if by any chance they'd won the game and see your ) !!!!!

GO LAKERS!

Great recap DB! When Cook is on like that it is a beautiful thing. Kobe took the 1st qtr off (scoring wise) and set his guys up wonderfully. Yet he still ended up with 42.

Man I am loving this team! Just wait until we are healthy

Is it okay to blame the refs even if we still win?

Didn't see the last seconds or overtime either. I looked at the laker chat room and they all said we lost so I didn't bother watching the final meltdown. Now I know that when the people on the chat room say we lost they exaggerate because there was still plenty of time (6 seconds and down by 4). BTW, remember Lamar losing that game last year when we were up by 5 with 30 seconds left? Instant karma gonna get you...

I'm new here and already posted on the horrible officiating in another thread but wanted to reiterate here that a few bad or missed calls are bound to happen but what I will never understand is the call by a ref in which there is no possible way he can see the actual contact but yet he blows the whistle for what he perceives is contact that is out of his direct vision. That is poor job performance and should be punishable.

Dick Bavetta and Jess Kersey have long been two of the refs that hold Laker teams to a different standard.

The team showed some heart, which has been lacking on previous years, as well as determination to get the job done.

Nice post. I agree 100%. I try not to let the refs bug me too much, but last night was ludicrous. I'd love to see Ronnie Nunn try and explain some of these calls on his show. And Charles is right. Bevetta and Kersey BOTH need to retire. btw, I was forced to watch the TNT broadcast last night and was pleasantly surprised with how good a job Charles did. And I can't wait to see that footrace between Charles and Bevetta. Nice job DB as usual and great game by da boyz. It took me a long time to unwind and go to sleep last night, but it was worth it.

Nice recap DB. I was falling asleep on my couch watching this game thinking it was over... whey they were up by 12 in the fourth. But they pulled through with all the bad calls the refs made...

Great win for the Lakers. Can't wait for Odom and Brown to come back.

That was a 3 hour and 45 minute game. Terrible overmanagement of the game by the refs. Just terrible. The L won't ever admit it, but they will be taking a long look at this game. I concur, Bavetta and that whole crew needs to go.

I didn't watch the game, but all the AP reports and the play-by-plays logs have Sasha hitting that 3 at the end of regulation?

Either way, good to have a win

While I know you're teasing, it’s never been about “blaming” the refs, as most people think fans do when their teams lose. More so, it’s that it really IS true that Kobe gets unfair ref treatment. I can’t count how many times the whistle blew last night on a graze (as described above) from a Laker, yet Kobe gets hacked, whacked, pushed, grabbed, smacked - and it’s not a foul?

Sure we won, but it still doesn’t change the reality of how he’s officiated. That’s why so many of us get ticked off by all the ref-love Wade gets. Kobe has to literally earn every inch he gets, and often doesn’t get many other inches he’s earned, while you can’t breathe on the new poster boys without a whistle blowing.

It’s irksome and compromises the integrity of the game.
