Team Stats

Kobe Bryant scored 14 of his 26 points in the 4th quarter. But the Lakers probably don't win this game without the contributions of Sasha Vujacic. In 19 minutes off the bench, he scored 16 points on 6-7 shots, and was 4-5 from 3-point range. He scored 9 in the 4th quarter, all on 3-pointers...the last one was the game winner with 28 seconds left in the game. He ended up with a 1.00 prod, 18 eff, and +3.

Kobe's totals included 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 13 hv, .95 prod, 27 eff, and +12.

Luke Walton continued his brilliant play of late with 21 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 9 hv, .77 prod, 21 eff, and +7.

Ronny Turiaf played extened minutes off the bench to score 13 points with 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 9 hv, .78 prod, and 17 eff.

Also worth noting:

Smush Parker's block on Jason Terry with 16 seconds left
Only 13 TOs for the Lakers, and none in the 4th quarter
Lakers shot 55% from the field, and 46% from beyond the arc
Only 3 FTs for the Lakers in the frist half, but finished with 23 to the Mavs 21
Lakers 26 assists, Dallas 16

who would have thought that devin harris and josh howard would amount to a -11 and -13 (+/- stats) at the end of the game.

it's been devin harris that's been one of the matchup problems, posed by the mavs for the SA Spurs. (harris also had a -4 in the help value..... expect him to come back strong in our next game in dallas).

one last observation: kobe's the ONLY PLAYER ON EITHER TEAM with a double-double (hv- +/- stats), i.e. 13, 12....... while logging in 40.9 minutes. josh howard was the only player with more minutes at 42 (however, with a 12 & minus 13, hv- +/- stats respectively).

A negative hv is very unusual for a player with 30 min.

In this case it was due to his 4 TOs and no rebounds, no assists, or anything else positive.

Definately not a good game for him. Let's give a hand to the Lakers defense.
