http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sonics/2003517535_soniglance10.html

Quote:

• Even though he likes the trade last year of Vladimir Radmanovic for Chris Wilcox, Hill said that in a perfect world the Sonics would acquire a three-point shooting forward.

Hill also said the front office is working to fill the vacancy on the roster, but said, "You don't want to get help just for the sake of [getting help]. You want to do the right thing for the team. I've been a part of bad deals before."

Just a thought to add to the Cook pile.

Give them back Radman and Cook! LS09 should make a video called Radman and Cook: Our defensive lineup. He made a Chucky and Tierre: Worthless video couple years ago.

A deal involving Cook/Smush and/or McKie/Mihm's expiring K, for Earl Watson/Danny Fortson or something similar to that, and MUST involve the immediate deportation of Braindead Cook's useless arse out of Los Angeles, I'm all for it.

keep it simple, I'm a Cincy fan but they don't need Fortson, they have a younger version in Turiaf. Watson for McKie/Cook opens up a roster spot for Webber, and gives them a very deep roster.

Parker/Watson/Farmar
Kobe/Evans/Vujacic
Odom/Walton/Vlad
Webber/Turiaf/Vlad
Brown/Bynum/Turiaf

Don't they have enough shooters with Lewis and Allen when healthy?...no wonder that team has never gotten anywhere.

I like this lineup. Simple trade, works for both teams.

I wish we could get Rashard Lewis. I've been wanting him on the Lakers since he was a rookie.

Right now though Vlad hasn't shown he is worth the contract he signed, I think he is capable of more. Though Cook has some hot nights and continues to work on his game, he is too much of a liability at the one position he can play. Factor in that Webber, Odom, Turiaf and maybe Vlad get all the minutes at PF and Cook becomes even less of a factor. Let Vlad heal and get a year in the offense, and deal with him being a SF/PF combo player that plays spairingly. With what he has shown, I'm thinking that the Sonics would be more willing to take Cook though.

Please trade Cook. He's a decent player but Phil's man-love for him makes him a liability.

sure - everything works - except for the money...

that's what happens when you use the trade checker and don't bother to do the math yourself...

Now we're starting to throw Phil into the mix on the trade blocks?

Where will the madness end? Well, at least he has some value, opposed to the typical Sasha, Cook, and Mckie's expiring contract for whatever superstar is being talked about.

The money does work. Cook and McKies salary times 125% plus $100,000 is more then the $5,400,000 that Watson is getting paid.

Great trade idea in my opinion, especially if Webber is really considering the Lakers.

What is it with these people that keep slamming Vlad for "not panning out"??? Don't you who say this realize the difficulty and time it takes to fully understand the intricacies of the triangle offense? It takes at least one full year (and actually 2 to fully master it). How long has Vlad been a Laker? 36 games? And already people here are crucifying him?

Give him a chance!

Laker nation People with little patience and that don't understand the complexities of the triangle.

At times Vlad has looked like our strongest post player in the paint. He drives to the lane more than Kobe, posts up more than Cook and doesn't shoot as many poor shots as Smush, on the outside. I hope Cook would be traded before Vlad.

fsm -- Those two deals are EXACTLY what I had in mind.

Although, actually, I had pictured CWebb at the 5, since (a) that's the "easiest" (relatively) position for a newcomer to learn, and (b) Webb is not as mobile as he used to be.

Granted, both he and Watson would need all the practcie they could get to learn the O, so if we could get BOTH without losing any starters/ key tri experience beyond Cookie, so much the better.

Getting Watson could be like us using our MLE next summer; in effect, we're filling that slot without actually burning the exception.

Come playoff crunch time, I could live with a lineup of:
PG -- Watson (D, D, and more D)
SG -- Kobe (Italian knowledge, rap ability)
SF -- Walton (passing, outside shooting)
PF -- Odom (post play and slashing)
C -- Webber (passing, rebounding, low-post bulk)

Then next year? Hooo boy... I desperately want us to keep Luke, but I can let Smush go unless he clocks in for 13 and 4 throguhout the playoffs. Assuming Smush doesn't, imagine this for next year:

PG -- Farmar/ Watson
SG -- Kobe/ Evans/ Sasha
C -- Bynum/ Kwame/ Turiaf

IF we keep Webber:

SF -- Odom/ Luke/ Vlad
PF -- Webber/ Vlad/ Turiaf

If NOT:

SF -- Luke/ Vlad
PF -- Odom/ Vlad/ Turiaf

And if signing Webb means we risk losing Luke due to a numbers game... I keep Luke, forget about C-Webb, and we still get backcourt help in Watson.

Ok, enough from me.
