Just a thought...

Remember, they have 3 first rounders and they're over the lux tax next season, so they'd be looking to cut salary. Then we could afford to let Smush walk and we'd have 2 first rounders in a deeeep draft. We could give them Shammond.

Sure.

They'd also give up cash and another 1st rounder to take Barbosa off their hands.

No.

And a trade between two teams in a heated race is unlikely anyway.

they wouldnt trade him to us even if it was a rip off in their favor.

Theres no way they trade banks to us after praticing against nash all season.

We match up with them well enough as it is. They are not going to send a stopper @ the 1, the only thing we lack

Banks was a Laker and at the LA press conference but a po'ed GP failed to show in Boston 'rescinding" the original trade and they gave us Jumaine instead! But to make matters worse for the Banks lovers here, we passed on him for the MLE and got Radmanobrick instead.

Today they would give up one of their picks ALONG with Banks to take him off their hands.

Not to us though...

BTW, it was just a bad fit to begin with. If there is a team in the NBA (between good teams) Marcus does not fit at all, it would be the Suns...

To begin with, Banks did not get an MLE.
And, secondly, you are too easy to call players names.

Leave Radman alone, give him a chance to adjust. For shooter any injury to shooting hand is deadly; guy is trying to adjust and to contribute in any possible way...

They may not want to, but the Suns owner is known to be absolutely anti-lux cap. Read: he will not pay it. The suns are over it next year by about 5-7 million. They have to cut salary. Beggars can't be choosers.

Why would the Suns give their division rival the one guy that has a chance to guard Steve Nash? :)

"Take Banks off their hands" He's a huge problem for them, I'm sure.

Mitch: Hey you know that Banks guy?
Suns Gm: Yeah, I hate him. You wanna take him off our hands?
Mitch: Meh. I dunno.
Suns Gm: Tell you what. We'll give you a #1 to take him
Mitch: Ok fine.

It's amazing isn't it?
It's as if these people think of scenarios without EVER considering the other team's needs.

I don't think it's so much that they want Banks, they just want to make sure we don't get any better. Would be a big blunder on the Suns part to give us key pieces.

Comedy Gold. Borat would be proud.

The Suns have THREE #1 picks in the coming draft?

I'm assuming one is there own, which will be a low pick. One is from the Joe Johnson trade with Atlanta (which I'm assuming is a protected pick -- anyone know the specifics? It's still going to be a nice pick). Where's the third pick from -- NY?

Details, anyone?

They get Boston's pick from that Rondo trade, plus the pick from Atlanta. The Atlanta pick is top 3 protected in 07 and I believe it's unprotected in 08. With Pierce injured, that Boston pick may be pretty good, and if they get lucky, they may get a #4 from Atlanta. I can definitely see them trying to move their own pick, but the thing is, they may not want to deal with the second place team in their own division.

Phoenix is getting Cleveland's first round pick. The pick came from Boston, in exchange for Phoenix sending them Rajon Rondo. Boston received the Cleveland pick in exchange for Jiri Welsch.

Why would Phoenix want to do something that could possibly HELP US when

a) it's barely 3-4 games ahead of us in the Pacific,
b) has that lead while we're already missing 2 starters,
c) needed 7 games and HCA to eliminate us last year, and
d) their single greatets positional advantage over us last year was at the PG spot?

Can you imagine, though, if we DIDN'T get Vlad what our record would be with Bynum, Ronny, Cook, and Walton as our only guys over 6-7 while Lamar and Kwame were hurt?

Whoa.

The Suns are looking for expiring contracts. They're already in luxury tax territory and they have the Big Contracts of Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw coming up, so trading Banks for an expiring contract would save them 6 Million (!!) Dollar next season.

I think the Lakers have a shot at him, if they really want him. They can trade Chris Mihm, who Phoenix may resign for cheap after the season. They would'nt have to include any picks either. Phoenix will surely be looking to sell their first round picks come july.

Banks trade value is at an all-time low right now and the only other team who'll be looking to get Marcus may be the Spurs, who could offer a package of Matt Bonner and Jaques Vaughn.

We'll see what will happen. Mitch is a big Banks-guy, so I'll think he'll try to get him, if Jimmy is okay with it...

I got news too...

First of all Banks would'nt get any of either Smush, or JF's time anyway... Sasha's time? Unless Marcus has found a J which I'm thinking that is why Phoenix is shopping him he won't survive on the Laker roster either.

Sure, Jax loves his players to hustle on D, but as a guard you have to have some offensive game...

Marcus would be mostly in attendance of that continous card game at the end of the bench with Shamu, and Aaron...

What would be the point?

I love Banks but I can't see Mitch picking him up. More than likely is waiting to see if Eddie Jones gets bought out then sign for the vet min.

I would be looking towards Detroit for a possible trading partner if I were the Suns. They're looking for some guard depth because Lindsey Hunter is old and has talked about retiring for the last few years. Banks would be a nice replacement to fill Hunter's role off the bench as an on-the-ball defender. The Suns could either take back one of their expendable bigs like Dale Davis and his expiring K or try and swing a deal for Nazr Mohammed.

Why do we want Banks again? We have too many PG's as it is.
