Hey all - here's my latest

link

I don't expect Kidd to be a Laker - but looking at it closely - if they do blow up the Nets like the Sixers did - maybe the Lakers at shot.

Fun to write and speculate about - but probably nothing more.

Fun and unlikely, but you raise an interesting point. If Kwame's not our long term solution at PF, then we need to move him.

Nice! Though if they do manage to package Kwame Mihm and Radman; couldn't they possibly get KG?

Jefferson's out indefinitely with ankle surgery. One step closer to blowing up? :)

I'd be on board with kidd, but he's no spring chicken and he was quite the hefty salary. Not sure the Lakers would go there, but maybe.

I'd much rather we go after Gasol!

Id rather go after a youngster like gasol. Or take a chance at billups in the offseason.

If we do let Kwame go in a pkg for Kidd, we need to get a big body back. Otherwise or depth is nothing at C. You're right about Kwame however, we do need a long term solution at PF in the tri. I would love a sl of Kidd, Bryant, Odom, Turiaf, Bynum. With servicable bench players, luke, mo, jordan.

Regarding Vlad, can't the lakers just force him to have surgery now so that we can have him at full strength to open the 07-08 season? Everytime he gets the ball or defends the ball something bad happens, at least when Cook is in I have piece of mind when he shoots, Vlad doesn't even give me that.

Other than Kidd, Gasol is another interesting names surfaced. More may be avalable in the offseaon: O'Neal, Billups, and perhaps Andre Miller. If Bynum is involved, I think we can compete with any package from other teams. But the team may only want to part with Kwame and that's more difficult.

Lakers aren't moving Bynum or pretty much any of the young talent - and Kwame is not an overwhelming trade piece - no Gasol.

Kidd is old which is why LA has even a prayer.

Emplay, I know it is just halfway thru the regular season, but what do you feel the Lakers will target this offseason with the MLE? Do you think they go after say a combo forward, power forward or point guard? If they let Smush walk, I say PG for sure. Also, of the 5 free agents who do they bring back? Obviously I think Walton, but how about Smush? I know this is early, but I am just asking your opinion at this time. I am not one of those idiots who jumps you when something doesn't turn out, I am also in media and I know how things change by the minute, much less day, weeks and months. Thanks in advance, I read every article you have on here.

waaaay to early to look at this summer - let's get past the deadline first and see what the league looks like - then we can talk.

At this point - Smush may be a playof hero - or he may shrink again - just too many variables.

i don't think it's worth considering - because LA isn't willing to part with him.

It's probably a workable package for Memphis.

A young, very promising C plus parts for a still young but with mileage skinny C/PF who has already had a major injury? Yeah, I see the Lakers doing that one.

Well if the price is simply Kwame, plus maybe Smush, it's a no brainer. Kwame is expendable long term, especially if Mihm hangs around, while Smush would be irrelevant the second Kidd dons the PnG.
