This will be on of the best drafts ever, but we will be picking in the high 20's. Splitter, oden, Durant, Noah, Wright, Yi and the rest of the guys I like will be long gone by then.
Rudy Fernandez will likley go in the mid teens, he ain't coming to the Lakers unless we trade up. Same with Aaron Gray and Hansbrough.
You have to lower your sights to the likes of Glen Davis, Shakur, Fazekas, Maybe Kareem's brother Brandon. Those other guys listed at the top this thread are Pipe, they will be LONG Gone by the time the Lakers are picking.
Capn Jack- Splitter has wanted to go to the NBA for the last three years, buy out issues with his Euro club have caused him to pull out. He finally has this resolved. He is comming this year. He is no Franz Vasquez. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

That is a good pick, he could be around in the mid 20's when the Laker pick. I like his D on the perimeter and that is what this team needs. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

The Lakers would "waste" a draft pick on Gray if they don't plan on re-signing Mihm or they are not very confident they can re-sign him at the price they are willing to pay. Maybe a good way to go for Lakers third string center. Turiaf is out of position playing at C.

There's no way that Brewer and Young fall tha far in the draft...but if they did I wouldn't be complaining. Those are probably my two favorite players in the draft. _________________ [Insert ignorant or naive statement from poster here.] |

Depends on when Durant, Oden, and other HS stud preps declare.
Thing is, I don't think they will declare, at least not all at the same time as originally predicted. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

GMs are getting tired of waiting. He's not as "fresh" and as young as he used to be with all the chances to declare. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Mike, I've only had a chance to watch Jeff Green once, and that was last year. From what I've heard he would be a perfect fit in the triangle. I was just wondering what your personal opinion of him is. You have at the top of your list so obviousley you pretty high on him, but I was just wondering what the report on him is. _________________ [Insert ignorant or naive statement from poster here.] |

^Would be a good tri fit, I'm just leery about defensive concerns.
It's not so much he's at the top of my list, but it is a rough general draft order by rank. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Nick Young probably isn't going to come out (reportedly, wants to stick around to run with OJ Mayo next year).
He is balling right now (as are the rest of his teammates--props to Floyd and the squad).
I'd love to see him or Afflalo on the Lakers. |

Speaking of Mayo, dudes suspended for a bit after knocking a ref to the floor. |

What's your thoughts on that, Freakout? I know you've seen it a billion times on the news here lately. Seemed to me like the ref pulled a Ginobili and flopped.
Still though, Mayo should have just left the court after his 2nd technical. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. I agree with everything you said. I do think Mayo is on the wrong side when it comes to attitude though. He is the type of prospect that I could see getting into trouble down the road. |

Exactly. Kid has a major attitude problem. See his response when questioned about the suspension?
"Ah. That's WV and Huntington for ya."
I mean, "sure", you got jobbed by a referee looking to get his 15 minutes. But YOU put him in a position to get those 15 minutes. Just respect the call, walk off the floor in a timely manner, don't try to intimidate the ref by chest bumping him as he's walking away, and take the win.
No need for all that. Not like Mayo was the first high-school phenom to get hosed on a call and certainly won't be the last.
Class.
Mayo is sorely lacking in it. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass." |

So, basically, he's Steve Francis.
Seriously, he's talented. Kobe-like in highschool with the handles, jumpshot, athleticism, etc. Got it all.
Except humility and class.
The 'tude will ruin him. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass." |
