From Real GM...

http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=622142

"This isn't a trade but it is a rumor involving KG. I have a good source, my friend and I met Troy hudson's manager at lifetime fitness while hooping last year and I occasionally talk to him about the wolves. Huddy's manager said that KG wants to be traded to lakers and wants huddy to come with him in the off season. The trade would be KG and huddy for a package of odom, kwame, and a young filler. Now this is clearly still a rumor, but it was from a direct source. KG said he wants to be traded if wolves don't make second round so the chance is big for LA to get KG. Keep in mind this is from a legit source and it does make sense for KG to be traded to lakers to contend. I'll let you guys know more if I see him again but before last week I didn't talk to him for 2 months."

wOw. That would be a blockbuster trade.

Same thing every year around this time, but I would trade Odom for Garnett in a second. Garnett is consistent and selfless.

If "plus young fillers" means Andrew Bynum, then no.

I don't think management would give up Drew, but I do think they would give up Farmar, if it meant landing KG. Considering that Mihm's recovery is going better than expected and he might possibly be back I could see an offer in the summer like this:

Quote:
L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Lamar Odom
6-10 PF from Rhode Island
17.1 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 4.8 apg in 39.0 minutes
Kwame Brown
6-11 C from Glynn Academy (HS)
8.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.0 apg in 27.5 minutes
Vladimir Radmanovic
6-10 PF from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign)
7.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 18.4 minutes
Jordan Farmar
6-2 PG from UCLA
5.5 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 2.1 apg in 16.6 minutes
Incoming
Kevin Garnett
6-11 PF from Farragut Academy (HS)
22.7 ppg, 12.4 rpg, 4.2 apg in 39.2 minutes
Troy Hudson
6-1 PG from Southern Illinois
5.6 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 1.7 apg in 15.3 minutes
Change in team outlook: -10.0 ppg, -6.7 rpg, and -4.1 apg.

Minnesota Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Kevin Garnett
6-11 PF from Farragut Academy (HS)
22.7 ppg, 12.4 rpg, 4.2 apg in 39.2 minutes
Troy Hudson
6-1 PG from Southern Illinois
5.6 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 1.7 apg in 15.3 minutes
Incoming
Lamar Odom
6-10 PF from Rhode Island
17.1 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 4.8 apg in 39.0 minutes
Kwame Brown
6-11 C from Glynn Academy (HS)
8.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.0 apg in 27.5 minutes
Vladimir Radmanovic
6-10 PF from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign)
7.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 18.4 minutes
Jordan Farmar
6-2 PG from UCLA
5.5 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 2.1 apg in 16.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: +10.0 ppg, +6.7 rpg, and +4.1 apg.

LA, could look like this:

C-Bynum/Mihm
PF-KG/Turiaf/Cook
SF-Walton/Evans
SG-KB/Sasha
PG-MLE/Smush/Hudson

Minnesota wouldn't be that bad a lineup either:

C-Kwame/Blount
PF-LO/Griffin/Madsen/Smith
SF-Trenton Hassell/VladRadmanovic/Reed
SG-Davis/Jaric/Mccants
PG-James/Foye/Farmar

I don't know if the Lakers do that (give up those 4 for KG and hudson), but I guess if the playoffs don't turn out well, it's conceivable.

^^^ Way too much going out for KG. LO + Kwame + picks is my upper limit. Adding Hudson's radioactive contract only tips it further in Wolves' flavor. If we could secure a starting SF in the offseason with the MLE (shouldn't be too hard), only then would I consider including Vlad. Dare I say...Grant Hill?

Bynum, Mihm
KG, Turiaf
Hill, Walton
Kobe, Evans
Farmar, Smush, (Hudson)

Other targets that come to mind...Stackhouse, Posey, Eddie.

Wait one more season and the Lakers will be able to get KG without giving up anyone and without trading for the VP of the Derek Fisher fan club.

Unless its, "ESPN reports that Dwight Howard has been traded to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum and fillers."

I'd rather have KG now than have Odom (being a few years younger), and as long as the "filler" players aren't Bynum you'd have to say yes. That DOES include Turiaf or Farmar, nothing against either guy. I want to see Kobe and Andrew for years to come, and it would take a lot to break that up. If Minnesota demands Bynum, I hang up, but...there is only one scenario I wouldn't call for Mitch's job..and that would be getting Foye in return (they can have Smush). Resign Kwame and Walton and give me a lineup of:

Foye/Farmar
Bryant/Evans
Walton/Radmanovic
KG/Turiaf
Kwame/Mihm

Again, I DO NOT want to give up Bynum, but if Mitch does it, he better get Minny's future PG back. I really don't know how Hudson would fit in, he's so bad on the defensive end that Sasha would get his minutes. If I gotta have a long term deal give me Hassell and platoon him with Luke at the SF spot. He can also defend the SGs that aren't blazing quick, and provides some insurance incase Luke walks.
