That's the guy the Lakers need... for now anyway. They are struggling so bad because Turiaf is not a center and when Bynum gets in foul trouble (every night), the Lakers have no one who can go in, play defense and rebound against other 7 footers.

Thomas is averaging 6 pts-6 rbds - 1.5 blocks in 20 minutes... not bad.

He was recently suspended for fighting with Brendan Haywood... Haywood wasn't suspended, so it kind of looks like Washington has made their choice of who they'd rather keep. Question is, would they accept McKie, Mihm and cash for him? Then they could cut both immediately. Or would they want McKie and Cook, so they can get a guy who can actually play?

yeah I was thinking maybe Cook and filler (like a 2nd rounder) to get a deal done, but I thought I'd get the mandatory....

"why does everyone post a trade thread about other team's castoffs once they get in trouble/become expendable"

Props to bein real, that is what this forum is about. If indeed they pull off a deal for Kidd (or another player), and they give up all their depth at center (Mihm and Kwame), they'll need a backup for the short term, and the long term for that matter. If they think they can get by with the little used Booth/Lang combination, maybe they swing a deal.

He's a bit short for Center, yet he gets almost 2 block a game. Not sure if he plugs any holes for us temp. or long term though. Mihm helps alot more.

I agree that I'd rather have Mihm as the backup, but it is likely that he could be dealt...and though the Lakers would be the frontrunners for resigning him, nothing is garunteed. Even if you had the luxury of having both Thomas and Mihm, you could unload either at any point because someone is bound to need a center.

Too expensive for a backup center.

Too prone to punching it out with your starter for a backup center.
