When asked by Billy Mac on Lakers Live if the Lakers were about to make a major trade, Phil's response (after a dramatic pause) was: "We certainly are thinking about it, but there's not anything that's imminent, right now." |

It certainly might mean "no", but nonetheless, it is just as certainly light years beyond what I've ever heard a Laker official give as a response to a question about a rumored trade. |

I wonder what Billy MacDonald, means by major versus what Phil Jackson means. |

"No" means "no," unless it means "yes." Here it may mean "maybe." Unless it really means "yes" or it really means "no." Then again, maybe Phil misunderstood the question? _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

I hope that means "We are definately thinking about it but I doubt we are going to rush into anything."
I think we should re-evaluate at seasons end when hopefully we have a healthy line-up that played together for the last part of the season and the playoffs. |

To paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld:
Reports that say trades haven't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are no no's; there are some no's that mean we know that no trade will take place. We also know there are some no's that mean we know some trades are brewing but cannot say. But there are also some no no's - no's that mean we don't know whether a trade will take place or not. _________________ Darvin Ham is an idiot! |

I've never heard Phil hedge like that! the fact that he's acknowledged that much is a postitve thing, let alone him saying there thinking about it. I think its already been agreed upon in principle and we're awaiting the anouncement. Phil wold normally just say "we're always looking to improve the team yada, yada, yada! this is pretty forthcoming for him....IMO
BTW, who hasnt played tonight? that might be a clue! |

Sounds like there's a chance of happening. Usually Phil dismisses any chances of having a trade midseason. We'll see what happens. I'm still of the opinion that nothing will get done like the last few years. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

This team desperately needs Gasol. Bynum is just not ready to play those many minutes. |

Dont give Mitch any ideas. I mean we've seen what great things he's done with the team's MLE and LLEs. |

I think it's obvious the team wants a major trade. Phil is not scared to hide it. and he probably knows the team needs something major if there gonna go on great run. |

The Kings and Bibby are at odds right now and Bibby is upset. The Kings like Farmer becasue of his potential, inexpensive contract, and they would like to run him with Kevin Martin.
I mean other then Farmar, I don't think any of the other PG's taken before him are available. Foye - No, Roy - No, Marcus Williams - No. Farmar would be a nice grab for the Kings. |
