If you do that, you can't also trade Kwame/Farmar for Kidd. I'd rather keep Bynum, and give them Odom, Cook, and a pick... not sure if they'd do it tthough... a rough night for us laker fans. _________________ -

That would be a great trade for the Grizzlies. Lamar would put the numbers up that he has, with Kobe not playing. And Andrew, will be a future star and he's a BIG to boot. The Grizz should also get a good pick this year too. Yeah, definitely good trade for the Grizz. They would be a in a great position, playoff contenders right away since Pau obviously isn't getting the job done as the franchise.
Always about Kobe vs Lamar. Face it. Lamar's not being held back by Kobe. It's on Odom to be aggressive in fighting for the post.
Re the trade proposal:
Riiight. And why would we do this deal? This team will not win until BYNUM IS READY or we have the 2-way Big. Gasol doesn't represent that 2-way big. He's softer than Dirk defensively, if that's believeable. Get that through your heads people. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass."
Oh so you think Odom and Bynum is some elite package thats only reserved for KG trade threads? Come on, both those players are being traded on 70% potential, and 30% substance, and whenever you trade potential for something solid like Gasol, there are risks you'll lose out in the trade. People here who talk of Bynum as untouchable have to realize some other ppl don't feel the same way, the kid could turn out to be 20/10 or 10/5. Where do you get that confidence to just blow this off with asking me if I'm kidding? There's no rule in the NBA you can't trade great potential for a sure thing.

The trade proposal was aimed at the OP. I more or less agree with you, except for that whole implication that Kobe is not doing enough to involve Odom schtick. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. Where have I blamed Kobe? I am a firm believer that it all starts at the top, and that is Mr. Jackson. He is the play caller, and he's the guy in charge.
At this point Bynum's trade value is about equal or slightly worse compared to Gasol when you factor in Salary and Potential. Odom though is way, way, ahead of Gay. _________________ Lakers Gonna Lake

It is on the team and coach to be mindful of mismatches and stop waisting time passing the ball around the horn for nothing waisting the shot clock and causing 3 second violations by not realizing there is a mismatch and then shooting up a 30 footer.
He still had 12 and 10 all of this whithout getting the ball when marbury and richardson guarding him or his coach keeping him out beyong teh 3 point line the whole game.
Id like to see what Lamar could average if he played on a team that put him in the post on every possession. Basically run there offense through him down low and less on the perimiter. _________________ It's Showtiiiime

This trade is so good for the Lakers, I can't believe ppl are hesitating. Gasol is an allstar 20/10 player and Rudy Gay is a potential allstar swingman who can cover good perimeter players. I'm sure this trade will make the Lakers contenders for the next 4 yrs of Kobe's prime. What I'm not sure of is how Bynum will develop. But I am pretty sure you're not trading away Shaq or Kareem here. Even if he's close, the odds were still pretty good now and you'll probably end up with 3 more championships in Kobe's prime.

So Rudy Gay is a sure thing? A potential all star?
