Pietrus is a FA ( I know, restricted) this summer, and the Warriors are already stacked at the position and they don't want to add to their large payroll.

Maybe we can get him ?

Nelly on re-signing Pietrus:

"It's a financial concern," Nelson said. "It's not a love concern."

They're definitely stacked at his spots. They have a high payroll. And, not this offseason, but the following one they will have to re-up Monta Ellis and Biedrins off of their current, cheaper deals. Ellis will be getting some bank. So, they've got issues with adding Pietrus's contract longterm.

Thank you DB for all the great analysis this season. Takes real effort when things are going bad. Or good I guess. Anyway, really appreciated here.

That just rocks./quote]When I read that, I was on the floor laughing because it is SO TRUE, funny and accurate! But hey, he's on bad wheels and doing his best - good or bad. Got to give him props for that!

Smush -- Great game by Smush. He had a season high in both assists (9) and rebounds (7) to go along with 19 points on a superb 8-10 shooting (3-4 from three). Our guards need to do a better job rebounding, especially Smush. Glad to see the season high in that stat. Some excellent ball movement by Smush tonight. The ball never stopped moving and he did some nice moving off the ball himself. He sank a wing 17-footer on his first attempt. He drained a three off a pitch out from Lamar. He swished a hanging jumper from the elbow. He buried a three over the zone. Great cut to the hoop as Luke had the ball in his hands and Smush was rewarded for a layup. He had 12 points at the half. In the second half, he scooped in a layup off a fastbreak feed from Kobe. He faked the three, attacked and kicked it to Kobe for a wide open three. He got one of those "new ball" bounces with the old ball, as it rattled in, out, in, out and back in again for a three. He attacked, spun in the air and flipped a sweet shot off the glass and in over KG. He missed a three. He got the ball to Luke in the middle to break the press and Luke hit Bynum for a dunk. Smush on Kobe: "He's relentless. Relentless. He's proved that all season and ever since I've been here."
Props to Smush for his game. Since he didn't have to worry/or pressure about scoring (Kobe took care of that), didn't have to worry/or pressure about effectively passing the ball (Lamar and Luke took care of most of the responsibilities), didn't have to worry/or pressure about initiating the offense (Luke and LO took care of that) and didn't have to worry/or pressure about getting assists since all he had to do was to pass it to Kobe. As Stu and Joel stated on the broadcast, you're definitely getting your money's worth (considering his salary) with Smush - however, he doesn't handle "crunch time" pressure well and who knows what he will be asking for in salary during this off-season. When you have players like Manu who are not reluctant to come off the bench because it is best for the team, what would Smush do when the Lakers share with him the possible "best role" for him (coming off the bench)?!?!?!
