|
|
I think that Johnson is a proven scorer and legit #2 option. He would get alot of open looks playing along Kobe.
I believe Josh Smith is on the verge of breaking out as a legit hybrid Power forward. he blocks a ton of shots, and rebounds really well. I think that Bynum has more of a back to the basket game, but Smith can be that ultra athletic 4 that we desperately need.
Childress isn't an all star by any means, but he is a tall guard that Phil likes. He can shoot, which is what we need at the one guard. He is a good defender and can take it to the rack.
Childress/ Blake (with part of the MLE)Farmar
Kobe/Evans
Joe/Walton(resign)/Vlad Rad
Smith/ Cook/Turiaf
Kwame/ Mihm(resign)
The only thing we would need is a more consistent back to the basket scorer, but we would have Radman, Kwame, Cook adn draft picks as contracts to try swing a deal for one. |

NO.
Josh Smith is not a PF. and he definitely can't play PF in the west. he's a high jumping SF. Now if you can get another team involved. where we could get gasol out of the deal. then, i might have to bite on that deal. JJ could be our PG, childress our backup SF for defensive purposes. |

yes. Josh Smith is a stud. Id trade him for Bynum straight up. JJ is perfect tri player. Can be a consistent second option. Childress would be an added bonus. |

If we could make that deal......Big "IF"....
You go with Joe at the point,Smith at the 3.With Kobe at the 2. You got kwame in the middle. You need to draft Tiago Splitter at 19 and let him share that spot with Turiaf,,,,
Smith/Pietrus(MLE)
Splitter(19th pick)/Turiaf
Kwame/Mihm
Kobe/Pietrus
Joe/Farmar |

I would in a heartbeat.
Too bad ATL wouldn't.
They've made some horrible decisions, but man, if they made that trade, their GM should get a serious beat down. |

maybe Atlanta would if we threw in this year's first round pick and a future second as well.
Another reason why Atlanta would possibly do this is because they get a LEGIT Center in Bynum whom they can build around alongside Marvin Williams.
Odom makwes a little less than Johnson and has less years on his contract, so that is added bonus. Atlanta must be thinking that they weren;t able to make th playoffs with this current roster so they might as well restart and build around Bynum and Wiliiams, while Odom can be a facilitator/ leader for this team. It would be less pressure on Odom than what he has next to Kobe. |

This trade would be ASSinine.
The Lakers would never propose or accept it.
If Lamar AND Bynum go the Lakers need a legit All-Star Big in return. _________________ Let the PAB hold out 2 years and walk without his Bird rights if he chooses.

It would be a fun team to watch but it wouldn't get us closer to a championship calibur team. _________________ New Orleans Hornets superstar point guard Chris Paul is reportedly headed to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster trade. |

Which team would give you that ALL STAR IN return? Minnesota? You reall ythink that they'll trade within the westrern conference? and if they do, then what do you put around Kobe and Garnett? Both salaries nearly eat up the salary cap.
Let's see, which other All-Star is available...J oneal? Well, he is a downgrade form Garnett, nearly making the same amount. See the rest of the reponse above.
This team needs an influx of talent. Not just one player. |

Not necessarily. We would have to tweak the roster by trading Vlade's K, or Cook Walton or even Kwame to get a back to basket scorer. |

Joe Johnson would be Kobe's Pippen that dude had sick numbers and plays solid defense. Bynum and scraps to make it work for him but the ATL would never do that.. Kobe, LO, Johnson would be a sick tri with Kwame at center. |

I don't see the Lakers trading Bynum and Odom for two guards and a SF. If both of them go, it's only going to be for Garnett or O'Neal. I think Garnett is unlikely. But personally, I doubt the Lakers are going to deal both Odom and Bynum this offseason. |

That roster would be ridiculously athletic and a terror on perimeter d. Plenty of swatting with Smith/Turiaf/Mihm, Kwame's man d in the paint, 50+ a night between Kobe/JJ, 3rd option in Smith, bench scoring from Pietrus...I like. Still no interior scoring, but that line up could take the Suns (Nash trying to guard JJ....I love it).
Pipe, but I think that might be a decent line up. Not sure about Splitter (at least starting) and might want to add a couple vets, but an intriguing line up, no doubt. |

Because he is young and still unproven, and we have the best player on the planet that needs talent around him.
Plus Atlanta has a history of making other teams better. |
