No... that doesn't make sense for Minny. I think it's more likely JO to Boston, so that Minny can still get what they want from Boston.

This all makes sense! That's why the Lakers are rumored to be trying to work their way up the draft. They are trying to improve the offer by substituting LO with an expiring contract (or other players) and a high lotto pick.

Reasoning? If Minne wants a interim KG-lite, LO might help, though if they couldn't make the playoffs with KG, they sure won't stand a chance with LO. If they told the Lakers that they really don't want LO (remember the Bucher remark?), then the Lakers have to find a high lotto pick and whatever else for LO.

While that makes sense, I think the article states that LO + Bynum are going to Indy.

Meaning JO has to be on his way to Minny. Don't you think?

Either way .. I really would be on board with this. Unreal if this is how things end up !

Pretty much my guess as well.

Ouch!

The good news is that the owners spoke FIRST. That tells me they've set the parameters and Mitch and McHale are on orders to make this work. That makes it a lot easier than one or the other trying to initiate.

my concern too, this three deal doesn't make sense...

Unless it is negotiations between Minnesota and the Lakers, or Indiana and the Lakers. Both gm's want Bynum...

Could be, though if I was Glen Taylor I'd look for someone to swap JO for expiring contracts, a high lotto pick and a young player or two. I'd want to get my team out of the red as soon as possible, wolf. It's living to fight another day.

whoever gets Jermaine O'Neal (fourth team) must be sending the primary compensation back to Minnesota. otherwise where's it coming from?

Word to the wise: Four way trades are highly unlikely, extremely rare occurances.

Now that I think about it.

The third or fourth team could be Boston!

Mchale is going to try to get that 5th pick from Boston along with Theo.

Boston gets Odom...

4th team: sending some pieces to each of the teams and taking back something (not determined)

You know this is somewhat believable. It would go down as the biggest trade in NBA history though. Talk about a blockbuster !

Very unlikely, Wolf, that Minny gets JO. It does not make any sense for minny, it does not make any sense for JO...

It is either straight up Minny/LA (despite newspaper report) or something else is brewing. But this report does not make any sense as only Indy benefits, and the Lakers are OK...

4th team might be somebody with high draft pick (where JO goes to) and Bynum ends up in Minny with Odom? I am not sure...

The trade which made sense to me was KG/Blount for Gerald Green/Bynum/Telfair/Ratliff/Kwame/#19/2008 Boston 1st rounder

Boston gets LO, gives up Green/Telfair/Ratliff/2008 1st round pick

LA gets KG, gives up Bynum/LO/Kwame/#19
