All of a sudden everyone is trying to go to Boston. Mutombo, Jasikevicous, PJ Brown, Brevin Knight just to name a few. Nothing great but still shows that getting someone like KG that people want to play with can help you attract players somethng we havent had since Shaq.

So even if youre over the cap . Guys will take one year small contracts to get title and so forth.

Well...so far the latest signing they've had is Pollard. Hardly what you can consider a worthy addition.

That said, if we land JO I believe the effect will be similar. Might be too late by then though, considering most the top FA's already signed.

Don't forget Eddie House.

Did Brevin Knight back out of his deal with the Clippers?

I kinda wonder how much allure playing out east brings. If the Lakers would have pulled off a deal for KG I'm not so sure that they would have been much better off than Boston is currently (Pollard, House) but there would be a lot of talk. We all know how free agents would use the Lakers when they had the Shaq/Kobe combo, so talk and actual signings are two different things.

No no no. According to many people here, once we dealt for KG, there was no way we could have made any further transactions because ANY deal for KG has to decimate our depth.

So far.... Pollard and House? Big whoop. They are basically filling in the roster with warm bodies... looks like they are hesitant to pay too much luxury tax.

Don't forget Jackie Manuel. And maybe Reggie Miller. Though Reggie will probably only play as long as the game doesn't interfere with his shuffleboard tournament or AARP meetings.
