At 2:34 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving the wrong way on a one-way street in the 100 block of North Patterson Street, reports state. Charles Edward Warren Jr., 23, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and driving on a suspended license, reports state. Kwame Brown, 25, was arrested and charged with interference with an officer and disorderly conduct, say reports. According to reports, he refused to stay out of the way of the investigation and continued to use foul language.

I would think that a news report would include this...
"NBA and Los Angeles Lakers player..."
If that were the case. _________________ <

Okay, but if I find out that the "disorderly conduct" involved a cake, then confirmation or no, I'm unlocking it. |

|

| Quote: | October 1, 2007
Valdosta - An NBA player was arrested in Valdosta over the weekend. Twenty-five-year-old Kwame Brown, a power forward with the LA Lakers is charged with disorderly conduct and interference of a law enforcement officer.
Police say Brown was the passenger in a car driven by 23-year-old Charles Edward Warren, Junior.
They were pulled over at the intersection of East Hill Avenue and North Patterson Street around 2:00 Saturday morning.
Warren was driving the wrong way down a one way street. Investigators say Warren was drunk and driving on a suspended license.
They say Brown was arrested when he got out of control during the investigation. "He would have been interfering with the investigation the officer was trying to conduct at that time," says Lt. Bobbi McGraw with the Valdosta Police.
Both Brown and Warren are originally from Brunswick. They are out on bond.
A spokesperson for the Lakers say Brown showed up on time for their media day this morning and no punishment has been handed down from team officials. |

Well in all fairness to Kwame, I can imagine it doesn't take a whole lot for a black man to be charged with "disorderly conduct" in rural Georgia.
But this begs the question of what reason the guy even has for being in Valdosta, Georgia in the first place. I know he grew up out there, but rural Georgia can't be one of those places you really want to go back to visit.... |

If Kwame grew up in Georgia, he oughta know better. You don't venture outside of Atlanta after dark. _________________ I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. Nobody. If I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it. ~ LeDouche James |

So we have one center who uses every summer to get in better and better condition... and we have another center who uses the summer to throw cakes and get arrested in Georgia....

I hear they're making a movie on Ryan Leaf.
I'd be more interested in seeing Kwame Brown's life story on the big screen.
The potential for hilarity would be oh so great. |

Cruising rural roads at 2:00 in the morning is never a good idea, especially in the deep south.
But in general, there's little to get into but trouble after midnight and he should be locked up in somebody's home (doesn't have to be his own). _________________ I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. i dunno about this one... seems a little fishy to me.
"disorderly conduct" is a shady and totally subjective law.
