PostPosted: Sat Oct 13, 2007 9:46 am    Post subject: Kobe to Houston ? (So called Insider)

Let me begin by saying that , i , by no mean , am trying to make this up..I'm one of the first people who think that "Insider Stories" are 95% wrong..But still , i'v got to share this with you..
I was just talking to a friend of mine , who i got to know via internet games..I didnt know that he watched the nba , and so did he..I was just asking what he's doing,he told me he's playing some fantasy games on the internet,i asked what,he said Yahoo basketball..Further into the convo , i asked him about he's roster/players and moves , then asked him about the team he supports , surprisingly , he told me the Rockets..I didnt tell him im a laker fan , i went on to say that Yao/Mcgrady have a good supporting cast this season, and might get past the second round after all..He replied saying : Yao , definitely yes , Tmac , he wont make it till march on our team..I said what do you mean , he answered saying he's uncle works in rockets management , and knowing that im from lebanon , he thought i wouldnt be telling anybody , so he went on to say that a trade before the deadline would be sending Tmac/Bonzi/Scola/#1 2008 and 2010 and the rights for a player called Lior Eliyahu for Kobe/Vlad and the rights of Sun Yue..Then he went on to say that the rockets have allready contacted the lakers about it,and this trade is the most likely to happen..

Take the seriousness of this post as much as you want , 1 thing i know is i ain't gonna trust it until i see it , maybe emplay can reply ,but incase it happens , you'll know who said it first

YUE NATION STAND UP!

BTW - That's actually a good trade for both teams. if Vlad is back to his old self like it seems, they would be scary.

T-Mac would fit right in with Lamar, Luke, Kwame, and Mihm. We can bet on who will miss the most games and T-mac loves to go to the lottery or get eliminated in the 1st rd. He's an expert at both.

It is "BS" , just an example..

If a guy calls you and tells you they'v read your job resumé from another company and they want you to work for Donald Trump , would you tell him BS and close the line ? Or think about it for a while ?

Man if the Lakers made this trade for Tmac I would disavow my Lakers fandom. Tmac is a loser plain and simple. No guts when it counts most. Plays defense when he feels like it. A career underachiever. Should have been an alltime great. Instead the guys who can't quite get it done.

Pros
Works on the trade checker
The two 1st round picks would balance some of the risk of McGrady's back
McGrady's salary comes off the books in 09/10
Bonzi off the books at the end of this season
Scola could be ok
Goodbye Vlad and his long-term deal
Maybe we can still move K.wamaki's contract for a player

This is a 50 win roster
Fish /Farmar/Critt
T-Mac /Bonzi/Evans
Odom /Luke
Turiaf /Scola/Cook :pukes:
Bynum /Mihm/K.wamaki

Cons
Kobe in the West w/ Yao would be tough for 3-4 seasons
No long-term superstar in return
Internet rumor

Overall
meh

Sounds like Kobe's supporting cast right now.

He's a perfect fit for the Jim Buss era.

The 1st rd picks will be LATE in the 1st rd so they mean nothing. The trade sucks.

The two funniest parts of this to me:

1. Someone tells a stranger on the Internet confidential info assuming it's safe because the stranger is from Lebanon.

2. The notion that all these NBA executives are telling their family and friends about these confidential deals that are in the works.

Trade Kobe, Vlade and Yue for one often injured all-star, a couple of 2nd stringers at best, a player drafted in 06 that has never played in the NBA ever since and late first round draft picks we know nothing about.

Put simply a disaster for the Lakers and alternatively a steal for the Rockets. I can only hope this is totally bogus. Frankly I can't see why Buss or Mitch would even remotely consider this.

Trade doesn't look that far-fetched. At least it's not so stupidly lopsided that it's funny.
