He should get it in like 6-7 games.

Exick provides an excellent and up to date thread regarding kobe's point total. Lots of good info and is stickied at the top.

Who's John Havlicek, Alex English, and Adrian Dantley?

Also anyone have shooting percentages on any in the top 10? Just curious as to how efficient those points were!

i cant wait to see him get this and hopefully he will be able to reach 30,000 and if he can stay injury free he can one day break the all time record but thats at least another 8 seasons away.

38,387-19,811=18,576

if he averaged 25 points for the next 744 games(a little over 9 seasons) he'll get it before his 39th birthday. That also doesn't take into account injury or missed games for any reason. He's got his work cut out for him if he is going to break that all time record.

i would rather see him win another 3-4 rings and retire before he reaches the all time record but both would be ideal

The thing about Kobe is that he didn't play much his first two seasons, but yet he's picked it up so much, that he's on the same pace as Lebron, who averaged 21 and 27 ppg his first two years.

I mean straight up took my son last year to see Kobe take on the Nuggets as he broke I believe 16,000. Or was it 18,000? I just remember it was a remarkable game but he is already at 19,000. Unbelieveable, simply the best.

In 4 years pro LBJ is at 8,930. He will eventually pass Kobe, on a quicker pace and younger.

Lebron started out way ahed but every year the gap gets smaller actually. Unless lebron starts avreageing 30 point rest of his career he isnt a shoe in to pass kobe.

Kobe should finish 3rd all time behind Kareem and Malone.

He'll pass up MJ who's in 3rd place because Kobe came in and got some points out of high school and I doubt Kobe retires twice. I also get the feeling Kobe doesn't play past age 36. That'll be 19 seasons.

And Lebron will eventually pass up Kobe. Kobe's first season and second season he average something like 7 points and 15 points where as Lebron has been averaging 25 points coming out of high school.

I see Lebron as a prolific scorer but that truly isn't were his game is at his strongest. I see him getting some legitimate help and he being a 20, 10 ,10 type of dude. Dunking Magic Johnson-ish type of game.

Kobe 161 points away from 20,000.

At his pace, he should get it in 6 more games on the road in his home town of Philadelphia. Dang, talk about boo's when they make the announcement and hand him the game ball lol.

Alex English and Dantley were not legends. They were just two guys who scored a whole lot of points but did nothing else. Dantley particularly was a horrid defender and pistons won the ring the year after dealing him. Hondo was the only real legend as he was a great defender and a winner

Damn...it sucks that hes going to get it on the road. I hope we blow out the next 4 teams and Kobe only needs to get like 18 in each game...and then he gets 20,000 at Staples, on Christmas to a standing ovation as we destory the Suns.
